I don't want to keep beating the drum of what is so I'll keep my details brief.  My clear intention is to clean up my vibration about money and about my job.  But I'm not very good at feeling good.  I rarely feel joy these days and I can't seem to keep it up very long.

I know I'm a genius creator who will have an amazing life someday soon.  I've read several of Esther and Abe's books and listened to a few CD sets but I'm still a diamond in the rough.

How do you get into the vortex?  I would be very appreciative if you could give me some pointers for feeling good even when I keep stepping in the contrast.

Thank You,

Yvonne

I've already found other threads that help and today's Abraham-Hicks quote is really appropriate.

Make lists of positive aspects. Make lists of things you love—and never complain about anything. And as you use those things that shine bright and make you feel good as your excuse to give your attention and be who-you-are, you will tune to who-you-are, and the whole world will begin to transform before your eyes. It is not your job to transform the world for others—but it is your job to transform it for you. A state of appreciation is pure Connection to Source where there is no perception of lack.

I wanted to feel relief so much that I couldn't help but discover ways to do just that.

Hi Yvonne,

This is a negative story you're telling yourself.

How about changing it to something like: I'm getting better at feeling better. i sometimes feel joy and I can learn to milk it when I feel it and thus expand my joy.

Also, you don't say how you actually feel about money and your job?

Powerless? Angry? Fearful? Disappointed? Frustrated?

I'd take the 'worst' thought i have about either of them and, if it's really low down the EGS, just try reaching for a better feeling thought on it, or, if it's around the middle of the scale, I'd try focus wheeling it to a better place (Foucs wheels only seem effective for me when I'm generally around the middle of the EGS, but that's just me...)

You can change your beliefs and thus, your feelings on any subject, but you've got to start where you are... no point reaching for joy when you're at despair, but there is always a point, and a benefit, to reaching for a better feeling thought.

be easy on yourself, accept where you are, and just be willing to find a better feeling thought. That's all it takes.

With love for the journey,

Rach

Since abundance begits abundance, I have a little rock I carry  in my pocket which I use to remind myself of the abundace that I have all around me. When my hand goes into my pocket the abundance rock clues me to be aware

Just a little head trip maybe but in works for me. Give it a try.

Love

I LIKE that abundance rock idea. ABUNDANCE ROCKS FOR ME! ::LOL

That said, the way I understand it, Abraham are basically teaching us that deliberate creation and a joyful life are ALL ABOUT the head-trip! ::woohoo

What if I could wave a magic wand for you like your fairy godmother and say;

"You shall have your heart's desire! You shall have everything you are wanting before nightfall!"

What will that look like for you?

It's not my job or even my place to wave a magic wand for you. Happily you have your own magic wand.

Find something - ANYTHING - that feels good to you, and focus on it, preferably for more than 17 seconds.

It could be puppies, sunshine, ice cream, sex, favorite music....doesn't matter at all what you think about (or do), as long as it's pleasurable and resistance-free.

You'll be in a better mood after 17 seconds, and start to think of more and more feel-good stuff...and 68 seconds or so later, you WILL be in a pretty good mood, guaranteed. (Maybe even in the Vortex).

Distraction and daydreams can definitely bring relief. Try it - it is powerful.

:)  IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!  :)

This forum will no longer be used for New Threads or replies.  As a result, this thread is now closed and can continue at:

http://www.abeforum.com

Please change your bookmark to the new address. :)  It is operational now with substantial improvements, new features and more additions than can be covered in this announcement.

All of original Abe Forum content has been imported to its new home as of August 20th at 6AM EST.  Any content after that date has not been imported, and so further postings need to be made just on the new site and not to this one any longer.

Eventually, all threads will be closed here--we are starting that task now.  Please watch for announcements on the top thread on the new forum,
http://www.abeforum.com under the Abraham Teachings and you.
