I would like to clarify the old "positive thinking" rules in light of the teachings of Abraham.

To recap, I'll use a very simple example. Suppose you want to be rich. Old school positive thinking and affirmation rules state:

Never say, "I will be rich, I will be rich" because your subconscious mind accepts it and says "ok, fine,... you will be rich". It then becomes something that "will" happen in the future and the future never arrives.
Instead, say "I AM rich, I am rich". This way, by using the present tense, your subconscious mind must make you rich NOW.

As you can see, that's a very simplistic view on how changing the TENSE of an affirmation makes all the difference. HOWEVER,

Now that I know more about Abe teachings, I understand that its all about alignment and hence how you feel when you make the affirmations. As such, it seems to me that one can easily affirm "I will be rich", feel great about it, imagining it. And nothing should come in the way of its achievement. Not even its blasphemy of being in future tense.

Essentially, the old school harping on future tense vs present tense is now insignificant.

It seems to make sense to me,... does it make sense to you guys?

Thanks

Leslie

It does make sense, and I think you're right on. A man in the hotseat asked about the perfect wealth affirmation, and Abe said something like, "You could just say 'money good, want some' and that would be fine, because it's not about the words, its about the feeling behind the words."  So I think you've got it.

That said, these forums are now closed for discussion, so please come over to the new forum at http://www.AbeForum.com and join the party!  Feel free to post this question again, or a new one over there.

Blessings,
Leslie

:)  IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!  :)

This forum will no longer be used for New Threads or replies.  Join us on the new forums at:

Please change your bookmark to the new address. :)  It is operational now with substantial improvements, new features and more additions than can be covered in this announcement.

All of original Abe Forum content has been imported to its new home as of August 20th at 6AM EST.  Any content after that date has not been imported, and so further postings need to be made just on the new site and not to this one any longer.

Eventually, all threads will be closed here--we are starting that task now.  Please watch for announcements on the top thread on the new forum,
