What a wonderful, awe-inspiring, Joy-inspiring, IDEA-inspiring thread this is!  Thank you, Lovely Leslie for PMing me and inspiring me to take the time to read it all and post. (Yes, I am feeling very inspired today!!)

I have been so busy this past month.  Still, I've found time - sometimes before eating, sometimes during eating - to appreciate the food I put into my body.  On the occasions that I've forgotten (and then later remembered) I did my very best to keep my responses to myself soothing.

It's not such a big hairy deal to forget once in a while.  My body knows what to do!  It's a magnificent machine that does not require my constant attention to work properly.   I am doing very well.

The few times I've found the time to sign on in the past couple of weeks, I've perused some of the posts.  One in particular caught my eye last week.  Wendy mentioned that she had a dream about gaining pounds and then laughing about it.

LAUGHING!!  I was so struck by that!  Can you believe that such a thing had NEVER occurred to me??  Laughing in the face of weight gain?!  My first reaction was that I could never do that.  And then *I* laughed, because of course I can!

So I walked into the bathroom closet and pulled out the scale, fully expecting to have some weight gain to practice my laughter upon.

I lost four pounds!

Oh, and YES I did laugh!  I love Ibby's sense of humor!

Today, I found more wonderful things to resonate with me.  Liquid Love!  I love it!  And it's funny.. ever since I read about that, I have found myself reaching for a cup of water when I read the words "liquid love" in any context!

And an email address for Ibby? Beautiful!

Oh yes, and I adore the body-stat idea as well.  Oh! Oh! And the iPod!  I have all of my Abe stuff on iPod!  I love the idea of making some supportive statements to myself (and through my child's voice - that idea gave me goose-bumps) to play alongside Esther's beautiful voice.

Most of all, there is such comfort in having such a supportive group of people with so many fantastic ideas here for me.  I can really feel it.  And it's wonderful.

Thank you.  All.

Love,
StacysJoy

::TU all! Thanks for checking in StacysJoy!

Well, we're about halfway through our 30 day food warm-up game and for me, there's lots to report!

I have been having so many more spontaneously loving thoughts about my body. I think I'll do a little rampage here!

I love my body!
It's beautiful!
It responds so beautifully to my thoughts!
When I feel good, it looks so good to me!
And I love my FOOD!
I love the lunch we had today!
It was so authentically Costa Rican!
I love that I felt I could order anything on the menu!
I love that I enjoyed every bite of my meal!
I love that I got to try everyone else's food, too!
I love that I rarely ever "freak out" over food anymore!
I'M DOING EXTREMELY WELL!
It can only get better!
Everything is working out for me relative to my body and food!
Everything is always working out for me!
YEEEEE HAAAAA!!!!::woohoo

Hi all!

I'm finding this thread a little late, but, it's very cool!!!!!!   :beautiful:

I'm wondering what, if any, protocol you're using...15 minutes...rampages...etc.

And, more importantly, I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who's interested in getting started and doing a buddy system thing.

Thanks to all here for sharing!  ::cool

Welcome, Tree!::wave
and congrats on your first post!!!
I'm doing 17-68 second rampages of appreciation for my body's ability to manage the food. Check out page one of this thread and the previous thread for more ideas!
And I'd be up for being PM or email buddies--I really love this stuff.

I've been doing this in total for about 6 weeks I guess, during the most sedentary period of the year for me (when I spend HOURS in front of the PC every day). I had already gone down one dress size last month, and today I discovered that I can easily wear the smallest version of that size. I tried on trousers (sorry, pants) I've NEVER been able to wear before - they still had the labels attached - and they fit BEAUTIFULLY! ::woohoo

All I've done is listen to what my body wants and appreciated what I've eaten.  Sometimes that's been chocolate and sometimes (ok, often!) wine and I haven't felt deprived for one second. We had to work on Saturday and one of the managers brought in doughnuts, cream cakes and fruit to thank us. I would always have had at least one doughnut and one cream cake in the past, and maybe even two of them! This time I looked at them and realised they weren't remotely appealing to me - they just looked icky and sweaty. I chose grapes instead!! Who took over my body????

We found the EASY button!

Love
Isobel ::hearts

P.S. Please bring back our drummer! lol

Hi All-

I have been much more conscious of appreciating food and feeling good when I eat lately.  One thing I noticed is that I seem to get full much more quickly!!  I often pick up food from a restaurant and often get 2 meals out of it, lately I have been getting 3 or 4 meals.  I am just not as hungry or probably more in tune to my body so I know when I feel satiated!

Yesterday I went to the mountains to a funky place with geothermal mineral caves and soaking tubs. Its a rustic place and it really does have a sacred feel to it. I chose the time to "feel" totally in sacred communion with my body and enjoying the time in the natural mineral waters!!  It felt great to me, so it was!!! Very meditative!

Lovin my bod!!!

Wow!! This 'experiment' sounds so interesting!! Thank you for posting it Lovely Leslie.

I would love to join!! Ever since I can remember I have been wanting to lose some weight. I have found lately that as soon as I stopped eating with guilt, I stopped gaining weight. But I have yet to warm up enough to lose some of it!

I am going to give it a try for 30 days too. I am so eager to read about your experience when the 30 days are up!

I was also thinking... does anyone want to be my 'buddy' for this warm up experiment? PM me if you do. I am thinking it will help me focus more, if I have some form of accountability. Thanks!!!

Hi Leslie and all - just want to say that I am still around - a bit of flu and hoo-haa on the Personal Front has made the Food thing a bit more Upstream for me than I'd like in recent days - but I have noticed that this past week even with lots happening I am still way more conscious around food/eating. So I am reconfirming my Desire to do the Warmups with every meal from now on!!! Cos I love the way they make me feel and how good they make the food taste and how gorgeous my body feels when I love it up so much!!!!

Day 15 for me, and here's what I'm noticing:

1. I'm having coffee-breaks WITH cookies now whenever I feel like it, and I'm eating the cookies without feeling guilty for eating them.  I'm concentrating on how they taste and I'm loving it.

2. I make sure I don't get hungry (along with cranky) any longer.  When I feel it's time to eat something, I just do it, and again, I concentrate on the taste of the food and eat without guilt.

3. I'm getting the idea that I'm eating smaller portions, I stop eating when I feel I've had enough.  Before I used to stuff it all in my mouth, having had enough or not, because good girls eat till their plate is empty. ::LOL

4. I'm NOT seeing any difference in the shape of my body though, my skirts and pants are still as tight as they were a month ago (and I refuse to buy bigger ones) ::devil

Welcome, Dynamita!
I think I'll just repost the roll call in another reply so that I don't need to keep asking Jody (although thank you Jody, for doing it unhesitatingly!)::hugging

This is from APOE on losing weight.

[...] Do not look for immediate, measurable, physical results. Instead look for improvement in your mood, attitude, and your emotions. When you feel better you are more in alignment and everything else will follow. It is Law. "

from The Astonishing Power of Emotions p66

I just LOVE that. Feeling good is the reason I want my body to look a certain way, so why not just choose to feel good now?!
I think I will!
And have some liquid love in the meantime!
