This question was prompted, in part, by jody1's VERY entertaining sneakers-and-waste process...it's been on my mind for a while, because the act of recycling and conserving energy obviously comes from a place of "not enough" or "running out soon, so there won't be enough later", which gave me pause when I thought about it from the perspective of LOA--but what of our lovely planet and keeping it nice?
So, where are we on all this? Overflowing landfills and pollution do seem to really be there--do we have these problems because someone thought it might be a problem and we all jumped on?
I really can't get my head around this from an Abe perspective. Any quotes or notes or thoughts are most welcome!

Hi Margay,
I remember a similar question on one of the CD's I can't remember which one, where Abe was asked a question about the looming Oil shortage and basically shortages of resources kind of thing and Abe basically responded saying this comes from a feeling of lack of abundance, our earth has the capability and resources needed and we're never going to exhaust it.
Something like that, I hope it helps :-)

Well, you could think of landfill as how the earth recycles the stuff of the universe. There is nothing "here" that is not of the same molecules as those of Creation. It all comes from the same Source.
Abraham has said a couple of times that what we burn now for fuel (the oil) is the stuff that once was previous civilizations.
Sure, you can do your part to recycle. You can do it out of fear and loathing and disgust at what our society (worldwide) has created....OR....you can do it with a happy heart as you put each piece into the recycling bin, with gratitude to the Mother Earth for all that has been provided, and "here's some back to work with again, thank you so very much."
It is my belief that the offering made with the second intention will be put to MUCH better use, and will lead to a way of obtaining what we want without creating so much clutter.
As for the air and water, you CAN clean that up yourself by intending the transmuting Violet Flame of Divine Love to be transforming it all.
You have the power to do that!

Yes, yes, YES, it's a huge difference to do it with a sense of "Oh no, we better do something, DO SOMETHING, to stem the tide" vs. "Hey, THANKS for making all this stuff for me to use, and here's what's left over, if you need it or something, and it's pretty luxurious that I can just plop it into this bin and someone is getting PAID to pick it up for me"!
I just needed a little nudge to pivot into a new way of seeing it. That was exactly what I needed. That was easy!
It's so cool to be able to have these kinds of conversations with so many willing, observant, brilliant, focused peoples.
THANK YOU

My kids and I went on a field trip last year to the dump and landfill. They preached lots about recycling, etc. of course. But I noticed two things that seemed contrary to their advice.
First, there are SO many people employed to manage trash and recyclables.
Second, they are working on perfecting harnessing the gas released from the landfills into an energy source. If I remember correctly, that one landfill was going to release enough energy to power several US states, bringing more money and industry and jobs.
Aren't people clever?
My theme for the day, All Is Well. What makes YOU feel aligned?

There are a lot of ways we can power our homes and cars with. When we start focusing more on solution than a problem, we will find ways to deal with landfills too.
I love recycling. I even have a Worm-o-can for the worms, that eat my juice pulp and other plant matter, and make me a very fine compost. It is fun for me!
But for people who don't like it, it wouldn't do any good. And for Earth? I don't know.

I like recycling. Things look nice all picked up. This includes my office, cities, and forrests.

My family and I have our own company that picks up all the alcoholic beverage containers for people and schools. We have noticed that a lot of people do not recycle these things so we're just giving them a helping hand to save more room in their recycling bins. I like recycling as a form of cleaning up our environment and teaching people that looking at these things laying around isn't very pleasant unless they consider it an art form!

Recycling makes me feel good. Its awesome to know that we can use things again and again which makes the earth so much more fantastic. I take my cans and bottles three times a year, AND they give me $$$ for it!
And the recycling bin that goes next to my trash bin every week? Its become a game of making the recycle bin fuller then the trash bin, and wondering if I'll ever touch anything again that went into that recycling bin. Ooh, how cool would THAT be?
