I chose ours when we registered.  I called Sarah and we went over the deck plans and chose the cabin.

Yup, Sharyn's right - when you register you choose a particular cabin category, and Sara will give you some choices that are available in that category and you pick (or you can just let her choose - if you have a preference for forward, aft, midships, she'll try to pick one in your location).  The deck plans are available on the Princess site, so you can see where the different staterooms are in relation to the theater, pools, dining room, etc...

I'll be ALL the way in the back on the stern overlooking the wake of the ship on the Caribe deck.  I usually ask for midships, so this is a first being over the wake but people rave about it, so it should be fun!

But my motto is - just get on the boat.  No matter which cabin you sleep in you'll have a fabulous time!

Somehow I must have missed that because I wanted to get the same cabin! I've emailed Sara with the choice... either way, you're right Jody... JUST GET ON THE SHIP!

Can't wait to hear it again...

This is our forth Abe cruise, but our first one with our kids. Anyone else taking theirs? We have 16 year old boy/girl twins and a 13 year old daughter. My son has autism and is non verbal, but high vibration! Although I think we'll all be on this cruise.

How wonderful, Betsy. And it sounds like you have a beautiful family. I am dreaming of taking my daughters, who are 14 and 16, on a cruise. I know it would be the time of our lives. The U is on it... :)

I hope you do bring your children as being the same ages, we could hook them up early on Facebook or email. We booked an inside cabin for them and got a great deal. If you think you might bring them, let Sara know and see what she can round up for you. I used free miles and calculated that it was cheaper to take them with than pay a sitter. (Although that's not why I'm taking them). The girls also agreed to take 6 hours each watching Joey during the seminars (kids programs are not set up for kids with autism...that's in MY escrow!).

Thank you for a lovely idea, Betsy. ::hearts::hugging I can feel my resistance to letting in that kind of money (for a separate room for the girls) and I can see how silly that is! It would be divine for them and for me!

It is done. Thank you, sweet U.

It would be sweet for our families to meet up on this cruise, Betsy. I am intending it.

Wow, looks like we're going to have a nice collection of teenagers. Jody, in all your web wisdom do you have any suggestions as a good way for the kids to get to know each other before the cruise? Is Facebook the easiest way? My kids are not shy, but they think I'm a total dork, so my suggestions rarely play out.

OMG too funny. Just noticed which thread this is. Betsy, my original intention has been to sign up for the Caribbean cruise, not the Mexican one (I have not booked yet)! Hehehe. Wondering if my teens have other intentions, and that is how this is unfolding... ::chin Too fun!

We may just see you there!

Love,
Christine

Thanks Jody for the warm welcome.

Betsy, our kids came with us on 2 cruises before. They didn't know anyone and they made friends instantly. The program for them on the ship is well organized, they have a meeting on the first day and lots of activities to choose from. Some days we hardly saw them at all. They had a blast!
It is a very safe place for them to be independent when they want to be.

If your kids want to communicate to others before the cruise I'll be glad to ask mine to connect on facebook since they are already on it. Let me know

Thanks, Fabienne. I agree. My kids have been on cruises before and I rarely see them. In fact they are usually closing the place down long after I have fallen asleep. I guess it's just my interfering that I want them to hook up with Abe family kids, but now, even saying that I realize it is so upstream. I know I just have to let it go and trust the connections they will be attracted to.
