Hi

Not sure if my earlier post was published but here it is again!

I'm a late registrant for the Alaska Cruise 2008, and I'm a solo cruiser.  Worldview has already allocated all room-matches so I'm currently "un-matched".

If you're cruising solo and looking for a perfect cabin-mate, your search is over!  It's me!

Please feel free to contact me direct. My email address is on my profile page.

(globalonlineguru@gmail.com)

Look forward to hearing from you!

What a great idea. I'm travelling solo this time and have been a bit curious about the Pinnacle grill. Could I join you..Definitely love the dining room experience (from the Caribbean cruise) it would be fun to try that also I've heard great things about it.

Hi Lynnette and Nan,

I too am travelling solo!  I would love to join you lovely women at the Pinnacle Grill!  My sisters and I planned a dinner at the Pinnacle when we were on the Oosterdam to celebrate one of my sisters' 50th birthday but we got so caught up in all the activities and the friends we made that we forgot about going to the Pinnacle!

Please count me in!

Hi

I am travelling to Seattle for the Alaska cruise, my first, I arrive in Seattle late on the 18th July. I haven't booked a hotel yet. Travelling solo so I am just wondering will there be any group about in Seattle on the Saturday  either day or evening  that may meet up , or is there any particular hotel that people travelling on the cruise usually stay in?

Love Gerrie

Hi Gerrie!

I merged your post with the roll call thread to be sure everyone sees it.

I've stayed at the Marriott Waterfront, which is just down the street from the pier, and also the Fairmont, which is where Holland gives comped rooms to guests in suites.  Both are lovely, but pricey, hotels.  With almost 2000 passengers on each cruise, there is a large number of Seattle hotels that cater to cruisers, and some have cruise "packages" where they also provide transportation to the pier.  HAL has a bus form the Fairmont.  I will be there again this year for the night preceding the cruise.

I will arrive in Seattle on the 17th, and will have some time to play before the cruise!! I'm sure there are others on this thread who will chime in with plans for the day before the cruise as well.  YAY!

It's not that far off now!

Let me introduce you to my Alaskan travel team for the cruise this summer:

My wife, Zona, is on the left. She plans to make good use of the kids club on the ship while I'm at the workshops and find opportunities to bask in our second Alaskan cruise experience.

Elyse, on the right, is now 4 years old and we'll celebrate her big "05" on the ship a few days late. She fears saying nothing. She is a perfect vibrational indicator. And this girl knows what she wants. I believe that Abraham would applaud the fits that she throws from time to time when things don't go her way, like not having chocolate chip pancakes in the morning...you know, the big stuff.

Carolyn, on the far right, is 7 and stays that way until September. She seems to be a bit more reserved when things are out of whack (sometimes), but her adventurous side comes out in trying food. She's open to most things, including calamari (with the little tentacles remaining). She's an animal lover and is the biggest advocate for a new dog in our house.

Yours truly fits well among all of them and finds things to appreciate about each of them as often as possible--a darned easy job.

We'll be a perfect vibrational match for this joyous experience!

Scott and Team

It's officially two months to go time! I'm taking it upon myself to make a note of this. It seemed like only two short months ago we were at the four month mark.  ::chin Time flies!

This is the view from the web cam located inside the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center. Taken on Monday the 19th of May 2008 (Yesterday). Last year I went kayaking on the lake around all the ice bergs and over to Nugget Falls on the right. I plan on doing it again this year. The web cam is great because I can check it daily to monitor the amount of ice bergs in the water... and the more the merrier! The visitor center is a 12 mile bus ride north of Juneau.

Of course you will be included Teddi~~ !!  It's not really a "cocktail party", although you are certainly free to order a cocktail from the Crow's nest bar! ::cool  (I will try to arrange for a waiter to circulate among us and facilitate things! :))

What is being referred to is the Forum Members Meet and Greet which we've had on every Abraham cruise since the forum came into being!  Members of the roll call (top of this thread) will be invited, and we'll have a chance to put names and faces together, which is a lot of fun.  When I return from the Med. cruise in early June, I'll turn my attention to the Alaska cruise and we'll get it organized as to time and venue.  I assume it will be similar to what we have planned for the Med. and what we did last year for Alaska and on  the Westerdam Carib.!

So watch this thread and your PM box for details!!
