 Does anybody have any suggestions about a motel that I might stay in on the night of Saturday, July 19 in Seattle? I'll be flying in to Seattle Tacoma airport (not like crashing into it, but like, to it). So far on the previous 4 Alaska cruises I have flown in on the day of the cruise and this time around I want to see how it feels to get there earlier. Because I can never friggin sleep the night before, either from the anticipation or because I'm worried I'll miss my flight out of Syracuse. So at least this way if I can't sleep I'll know it's not the flight worry. ha!

Hey, this is the roll call thread. This doesn't go here.

Hi Rick!

I've stayed at the Marriott Waterfront, the Fairmont (Holland America gives a room there the night before the cruise to those who stay in suites on the ship), and the Marriott airport... but there are many many many hotels in Seattle - something for every budget... I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding a spot for the night before.  I agree that arriving the day before is so much more relaxing.  And Seattle is a fun place to spend a day as well.

So... dinner the night before the cruise? We'll start the picture taking a day early!!!!

::LOL Okay, Rick, your humor was recieved.  Very good.  Best not to fly into and airport such as its tower or the trees around.  Best to fly in to one the normal way.

IMHO too much can happen with delays and cancellations these days.  Best to go the night before just for insurance on that event alone, not to mention an ease about the day set as a tone for the blessed week ahead. (Unless you like the contrast of stress then a BIG Aaaaahhhhhh!! when you get on the ship.::boatwave

Hmmm, twisting my arm?  Ok already, I'm there!

What time of the day do you usually arrive in Seattle?

I think I'll take your advice David and pass on the forced contrast. I'll save the big Aaaaahhhhhh for the first dessert or something.

I just love you guys! Thank you for sharing some of that cruise energy with us. It is contagious, and I am so happy to catch a bit of it! I have to get onto one of those ships one of these days. I think I would die of happiness... but wait, Abe says there is relief from JOY!

:kiss:::LOL

Love,
Christine

I just have to ad that in Sitka, if you eat meat, do NOT miss the little stand that sells reindeer sausages! Even my semi-vegetarian sister who now lives in GA still gets that eyes glazed over look when she remembers living in Alaska and having the reindeer sausages! YES! More, please.

Blessings,
Carol
