I've reserved a spot for my husband and myself
Luckly, my mother lives in Redmond. So the whole family will drive over the night before and Grandma is going to stay home from work and watch my 4 kids.
I'm looking forward to meeting any others from here that are going.

::handwavingHi back!!
We relocated to the Spokane area 2 1/2 years ago...and LOVE it!! This past winter has been great . Originally came from the western side, north end(Everett/Marysville area) I thought I liked the rain, but I don't miss it one bit!!
I'm looking forward to meeting you!... and hopefully many others

Any one else coming to the the Seattle workshop in July? My husband and I may be coming down from the Vancouver area.
It would be lovely to meet up with other forum members.

Hi rainbow9,
It would be great to meet you at the Seattle workshop. Someone on another thread mentioned that some members from this forum have suggested wearing a green ribbon to the workshops so we can recognize each other. I think that's a great idea and I'll be wearing one. Hope others will too.

Hi Everyone! David and I will be at the Seattle workshop! We'll be staying on in Seattle after the Alaska cruise to play and go to the workshop. We'll definitely arrange a way to meet the forum members who will be attending! What great fun!!

Aryana - DH means "Darling Husband" in internet - speak.
Or were you asking about the ribbons?

I am a real Disney fanatic and I've been spending a couple of weeks in the parks with my daughter (and/or David) every year for the past 10 years, and I participated for years in an online forum about the parks. A few years ago, someone on that forum suggested that for forum members to recognize one another in the parks, everyone should wear lime green ribbons somewhere on their person, and that caught on and has been going on for years and it works great. So I suggested we do that at Abe workshops for forum members as well. Of course we can also recognize one another from our name tags, and from our avatars! (Leafy, I guess the ribbon will help in your case, unless you really are a leading edge canine )
I'll make David wear a lime green ribbon even though I don't think you'll have any trouble at all recognizing either one of us - and we'll ask Scotty to keep his eye out for the ribbons and let us know when one of you arrives so we won't miss you!
Looking forward to meeting you and DH Aryana, and everyone else as well!
Hint - come early! The doors will open well before 9:30 and a line often forms as early as 7:30. David and I will come down early to see everyone!

That's so funny Jody...we are complete Disney fanatics too. We discovered Disneyland 20 years ago when our son was 1, and he is now 21. I am sure we have gone to either DLand or DWorld 25+ times with him and now his little sister who is 11. I am sorry we cannot join you in early Dec- we are planning on that first week in January in Orlando.
And thanks for the info on getting to the w/shop early- we will be staying nearby at another hotel.
This is going to be fun!! and I look forward to meeting you and David and all the others on the forum.
Two more things as I am new to forum- land: what does LOL mean, and can you explain the icon of the happy face in the green boat with what looks like an oar up a nostil???!! I think I need a tutorial...

Aryana! LOL means "Laughing Out Loud".
And you just cracked me up!!! Oar up the nostril!! I had not noticed that, but you are right!!!! (actually since the smiley guy has no nose, I think he's sticking it in his eye!! LOL - this is a good place to say - LOL!!!!)
So.. that emoticon... actually it's pretty funny... back when David was moderating the forum on the A-H site, we were looking for an emoticon that would picture "downstream" or "paddling"... and I did a search and came up with that guy. Then we found that other one with NO oars which was more apropos but we kept both of them. I guess since he only has ONE oar, he's in the PROCESS of "letting go of the oars" as Abraham suggests! (I know.. it's a canoe, and only one paddle is used by each person, but we can SAY he's "letting go"...)
And besides.. he's cute.
Or.. at least I thought he was cute before I got that nostril image stuck in my mind thank you very much!
LOL!!!!

Oh dear... now you have me LOL... ( I was trying out "lots of love" or "lack of luck" with some of the posts, but they just didn't seem to fit!)
I somehow thought our little guy in the green boat had some sort of deep metaphysical meaning to the placement of the oar on his face....it is just that he is missing hands I guess..
Thanks for de-mystifying it for me...

I'm glad you specified lime green. I will be wearing a lime green ribbon! I think it's such a great idea Jody, in the hustle and bustle it will be so much easier to recognize a ribbon over a memory of a avatar pic. And you're right, the pic of my beautiful Airedale won't do you all much good
