Hi again to all who are already on the Disney Forum Meet roll call, and to those of you who are thinking about joining us! I know I said I'd not be giving it a lot of thought until after the Alaska cruise.. but.. meanwhile David and I registered for another cruise for December and we had to do some planning so here is what has developed:
Jody and David will be at the
Disney's Pop Century Resort
from Dec. 1-6, 2008
We have to leave on the morning of the 6th, so this means we really won't be there over a weekend. I hope that won't be a problem for anyone. Please do what I always did - take your kids out of school!! Fun is more important!!  Seriously now.. I always thought, 15 years from now who's going to remember if my daughter missed a few days of 1st grade, 3rd grade, 6th grade, whatever was applicable at the time... but she and I WILL remember our wonderful Disney trip...and THAT can make a difference in a life.
We decided to stay on property this time, but we will have a car. Pop Century is one of the "Value" resorts on the Disney resort property, and it's themed, well, like it sounds, with pop icons from the 20th century. Last year we stayed at the Yacht Club, and it was great for walking distance to Epcot, but pricey and not nearly as fun-themed. There are a myriad of choices - on and off property, and I've been going for years and years so if anyone wants to PM with questions (or it's perfectly okay to ask them in this thread) please do!
And we have other experts on board as well! Susan sounds like a fabulous resource - and our other Florida Abers... well.. let's get the planning going.
Kendall has volunteered to spearhead the planning and I will work closely with her. So for right now - what I know is that David and I arrive Dec. 1 and stay until AM Dec. 6. One idea I had is that we all meet for a character lunch in the Magic Kingdom at the Crystal Palace. It think that would be such a blast - and think of the Kodak moments - all the Forum members with Pooh and Eeyore and Piglet!! For this we need advance reservations and to know what day most of us will be available..
Before I ramble so much further, I'll close this post. Just wanted everyone to know our dates.
Now back to packing for Alaska!! Sheesh, the U.S. is a vast country! Alaska, Florida... and how blessed I am to be able to visit such wonderful and diverse corners of the Big Country and to find you wonderful Abers everywhere I go!!

HI GV - what a great idea! I've taken my daughter to Disneyland Paris several times and it is fantastic! Let's keep that in mind for the future! How about Tokyo Disney and Hong Kong Disney too!

Okay, everyone, we're only a few months out from our great AbeForum Members Visit the Mouse event!! Let's start planning! Who's definitely on board for Orlando December 1 through 5? David and I are really looking forward to meeting a lot of you! And Lee will be there too, right Lee?
So let's get this thread rolling again, and let's hear your ideas for get-togethers and activities during that period. Kendall and I will "pull it together" and inform those of you who definitely plan to be there.
YAY!!! Very excited about this!!
David, WHERE is my Mickey Mouse emoticon already????

I will be there !!!! 
I actually cancelled a 6-month job in New Zealand, knowing that if I didn't --- I would miss the Disney event! (Yes, there were other considerations as well .
I look forward to hearing an itinerary of get togethers. I live in Celebration (built by Disney, next to Disney). I can't make any housing promises right now, because my big house is up for sale, but if it doesn't sell by then, I might be able to put some people up for the event --- if affordability is keeping them away. ::dreaming

Martin! That's super-fantastic!! And I'd love to see the community of Celebration - it's been on my list for a while! David and I will have a car, so we can come to Celebration and have a look around as part of our week - maybe you can be our guide!
This is going to be SO much fun.

I won't be there! But that's cool because....
Abraham, Esther & Jerry are going to be in Australia doing 3 workshops around the same time  and I'm attending all three!!! Woo-hoo!
Jody, I'll see you on the Mexican Riviera cruise instead! You will meet my 3 wonderful, magnificent, handsome Aber-babes then! We'll be doing Disneyland then too!

Also, everyone, I've contacted an expert Disney planner - I decided we needed a professional to help us pull all of this together. So now... drum roll... everybody planning to take part in ANY PART of our wondrous Disney week - PLEASE contact me by PM or write in this thread! We should get going on this. It's going to be tremendous and stupendous!!
