Hi all,

I was just driving home thinking about posting a poll to try it out and what do you know... Jody already did it!  Isn't that a coinky dink?

So, here's my poll.  Just interested in the influence of "The Secret" in bringing folks to Abraham.

Thanks

Kendall

I also voted yes, but I have been a truth seeker for most of my life. I had just not heard of Abraham. Actually I can not beleive it took me this long. But that's ok, as I said to someone not too long ago, I am in Love with Abraham...:beautiful:

Hi Kendall and everyone,

I discovered Abraham officially in January of 2006 which was before The Secret. I did see the original version for the first time in Austin at an outside party in the country. It was pretty cool. A big screen was put up and we all watched it. That was in May of 2006. And as I write this, I just remembered that I met the folks who threw the party at the Abe workshop in San Antonio in April of 2006!

Of course, Abraham's energy via Esther was so pure and radiating. Honestly, I haven't seen the new version without Abraham.

Hope this helps out your high participation rate!!

Hi all::wave

I voted no; I discoverd Abraham at the end of 2005, when I read AAIIG and then I watched  the secret in june 2006 with Esther on it and I love it; I have never seen the other version.

No - I discovered Abraham at the beginning of 2005. I don't remember exactly where I first heard about them though!

I do have a copy of the original Secret DVD   - I quite enjoyed the movie, but thought Esther/Abraham was the best part! I haven't seen the new version.

No, I give credit to Wayne Dyer, whom I saw in NYC three years ago. And well, of course to my inner being, who led me to be there. ::hearts

Dr. Wayne Dyer for me too. Saw him on PBS and did a search on LOA and found the Abe-Hicks site. Started with the daily quotes and wanted more more more.  Then learned about the Secret on the Abe yahoo group.

Hi Kendall,

Actually the What The Bleep movie led me to Abraham in a round-about way. I joined the WTB Yahoo group and people started talking about Abraham. I did a web-search and found the Yahoo Abe list. I bought the books and read them and luckily, just as I was finding this, Esther and Jerry and Abe showed up in my area for a seminar.

I also found out that Connee lived in the same town as I do so we have had some good Starbucks coffees/waters and conversations over the months. What a treasure she is!

I didn't hear about the Secret until after I joined the Abe Yahoo group.

Hugs,

For me......I was in a depression of sorts. What I've learned from Abraham (and Jerry......;)) since then is that when you shout out "I GIVE UP!!!"....what happens is that you "drop the oars" and release all resistance. I then attracted the book "The Secret". I read on the dust cover that "the secret" was used by Carnegie. Since I've read "Think and Grow Rich" 20+ times and successfully used what the book taught, I've always knew I was missing something. I never knew if I really had the "secret" the book (TaGR) has mentioned. Then I saw the DVD......and I knew I was getting closer to finding that "missing piece". The. I found Abraham......missing piece found...:beautiful:

Well, the rest is history.

Have a terrific everyday,

Douglas

I first heard of Jerry, Esther, and Abraham through a tiny note of acknowledgment in Lynn Grabhorn's book Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting, back in 2003 or so. I didn't particularly like Grabhorn's persona or writing style, but the content of that book really got me buzzing! (And of course, all the content was Grabhorn's interpretation of Abraham's teachings.) But I wasn't ready to accept channeling then.

Every once in a while, I'd come across another reference to Abraham, Jerry and Esther. The channeling thing still put me off, but the nudges were consistent and frequent enough that I eventually thought, "Ok, I'll look into it." A couple of years ago I picked up AAIIG in a bookstore, and a woman asked me, "Oh! What do you think of Abraham?" before I'd even had a chance to open the cover. As soon as I started reading, everything clicked. (I love hearing how that happened for so many people!) And that first night, I had a joyous reunion with my IB as I slept and woke up in a state of euphoria. I didn't even go through a phase of not caring where the information came from, because I had a deep and immediate KNOWING that it was all real, all true.

However, the first time that I saw Abraham speaking through Esther was in the original version of The Secret, which I watched online. When Esther/Abraham were on, I got goosebumps, tears streaming down my face--the whole deal! And that was when I knew I had to get to a workshop ASAP (and the universe sent me to Tarrytown last May).

Love,

Nancy C.

About a year ago I was viewing my quantum touch video and kept fast-forwarding to the segment where Esther was mentioned. This went on for several days (my Inner Being trying to get my attention), finally I went to the computer and typed in their web site and I ordered a book and cd's. Since then I have sent many of my friends the intro cd and they have all responded with enthusiasm.  My husband is a "doubting Thomas" so I asked him to listen to a cd with me one evening (I started it on track 7 - eliminating the intro on how and why Esther became a channel for Abraham) and he loved the clarity of thought - he just could not understand why they kept calling "her" Abraham.

I must commend all of you on your great love for one another - I love reading your comments and  the support offered - :beautiful:It is sooo uplifting!

Here's my intro: I have been a "bush" woman  for the past ten years- I live in Interior Alaska (in a log home) near the Yukon River - this means we have no road system leading outside of our village (approx 600 residents). We have two small stores, a gas station, northern lights, bears, lynx, beaver, fox, wolves, etc. and peace and quiet - I can actually hear flapping of the birds':allgood wings as they fly.  And now, we have tons of daylite to enjoy.  My husband and I are employed with a public boarding school - approx 90% native students from all over Alaska - He is the food service manager and also teaches Culinary Arts and I work with him - it seems that we have always worked together. We love working with teens -::ptand I also rescue critters (dogs cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, etc) from a ride to the "dump" and have them flown to Anchorage or Fairbanks for a continued life.  And, every Wed evening I become a DJ and play rock n' roll with a touch of country.

I have always believed in the "impossible" and find Abraham a breath of fresh air. I'm working very hard to release any resistance and raise my level of allowing - I love life and I feel blessed to be a part of the Abraham energy.

And finally, I have a fabulous husband (a Chef - I eat very well!), 2 children, 6 grandchildren, one great-grandson, a Rottweiler, a St. Bernard, and a rescued squirrel (living on our property and being well fed!!)....Suzette (alaskadancingbear)

Hi Kendell,

I was hanging out on Amazon.com and for some reason I wound up being recommened or happened across (I really can't remember which) a book on LOA by Michael J. Losier. And I bought it. He of course refers to Jerry & Esther in his book and I went on from there, found the website, listened to the free downloads, ordered the LOA 5-CD set and am now reading AAIIG.

It's only been 3 months but I'm so much happier and relaxed now.::frog

It's all downsteam from here on out, yippie!

Five years ago while in an Earnest Holmes class, a friend mentioned Abraham but I wasn't ready to listen at that time. A few weeks ago that same friend and I were talking, after not having visited for almost three years, and he brought Abraham up again. I was curious but that's about all. I agreed to listen to one of his CDs (Ft Collins, CO, summer of '06, I believe) and am continuing to appreciate both my friend's suggestion and my receptivity to listen.

I never heard of Abraham being on The Secret until I saw the link on theAbraham-Hicks website
