I just returned from China a few days ago, the flight was 12 hours and gave me time to listen to the Abe teachings I had loaded onto my ipod. My first experience was to say the least...very remarkable and I thought I would share it here for others who may just be starting out.
I have always "felt" that when asking for something somehow by releasing my attachment to the thing I desired (asking), and not trying to qualify my desire or, to mold the outcome to conform to what I thought was the best option to receive was somehow correct. As I listened to the recording with my eyes closed it occurred to me that what I had always fumbled with in the past when asking was "my getting in my own way" and that when I got out of my own way I always received what I had asked for. So I thought that if I could share my method here for others to try and practice may be helpful for others just beginning. I AM so grateful for who I AM and what I AM and what Is to be, that I offer this as a small gift to those taking this journey.
When I ask for something I first think of what it is I am really asking for. The desire to ask is obvious; the desire to receive is more obvious but the in-between is the thing needing the most understanding and the least amount of effort. So when I now ask for something I use a magic wand..haha. First thing is to create the most beautiful wand you can think of, my wand is about 8 inches long and is about the size of a large ball point pen. It is made of gold and is highly decorative and has an on-off switch. At the tip of the wand is a small cage similar to a lamp post style light with four sides and an open top. Inside is the most perfect diamond which fills the lamp space perfectly. When I turn on the switch the diamond explodes in dazzling light, so bright and compelling that anything beyond it is unnoticeable. More importantly there is complete and utter silence. If I wish to remove an illness I can place this wand over the area affected and can see swirling energy similar to race micro sized race cars speeding around the track but these are like tiny balls of light energy and love. The most important application for my wand is to distract my attention from the thoughts I have after asking. I ask for what I want then I hold up my wand and place it between myself and the object I desire, I turn it on and the light distracts me long enough for the desire to make its way to source unqualified by my ego. The light also purifies the desire and emits vibration according to the desire. I can not hold any negative thought because I am drawn into this light which is pure love and source energy, there is absolutly no sound or noise when I flip the switch. If later I find myself having feelings of doubt or negative thoughts about what I desire I mentally turn on the wand. Enjoy.

What a beautiful way to have your desires fulfilled! I love it! 
May I ask where you got your wand, or where or how to get something similar? It just sounds so beautiful and lovely, something that, just from your description, will keep me fascinated!  I want a wand like yours now!

I have seen some crystal wands but me thinks yours is a visionary wand/or can be...I like the imagery very much and THANK YOU!!!!!

Thank you for your kindness. Actually it is an imaginary wand....sorry.
While listening to the Abe CD on my way home from China the vision came to me as I began to focus a healing energy to a specific point on my body, with my eyes closed and noise canceling headphones I saw a swirling intense white light and I tried to hold focus on it for as long as possible. This is when I realized that the light itself was also providing a focal point so that the healing energy could manifest and I could not interfere. I understood that I could use the same light as a tool as if it could be turned on or off at will. The idea of placing the light in a wand of my choice seamed natural so I made my imaginary wand to "allow" me to control the light. The wand I imagined would be fantastic as a real physical tool. In Hong Kong there are hundreds of jewelry stores with huge beautiful solitary diamonds in their window displays, If you can imagine a very bright flashlight pointed to a large beautiful diamond its easy to get the idea of what the light would look like in the wand. In my vision the light was so bright it held my focus then I realized there was total silence emanating from the light, the silence seemed to enter my thought and I became one with the light. I now believe anyone can do the same if they try. The reason I find this very unusual is it occurred while in an airplane which is really noisy. I have successfully manifested desires without using the light but there are things like money that we all would like to manifest that seem to have a thought process that hinders the fulfillment. I think that in my case the idea of money can be in many forms, for instance one million dollars could be a check or a suite-case filled with $100's. Also the idea of receiving all that money at one time is something that is hard to realize and then there's the idea that a million dollars in stacks of $100 dollar bills is only worth about $100 dollars since thats what it cost the mint to make the bills. It requires clarity of thought to "place your order" so it will take some practice to get there. I truly believe that using the light wand method will allow me to improve my manifestations and provide more confidence.

Hi Ming Bai,
Welcome to the forum and thanks for sharing your process. Abraham would say that when you truly believe something will "work" then, of course, it does.
You mentioned several things that your process does which are right in line with the ALLOWING Abraham tells us we must do to bring about manifestation.
In fact, ANY process that distracts our attention from worrying about how and when manifestation will occur, will enhance allowing. Abraham recommends petting a cat or wading in a stream! Focusing on something that FEELS GOOD is what you are doing when you focus on your imaginary wand!
We'll be interested in hearing how your process evolves as you delve further into the Teachings of Abraham.

Thanks so much for your response. I just love love love your process, it's beautiful imagery, playful and fun.
I guess my imagination went a little further though, as to the possibility of building a real wand  . I think that could be fun too, get really creative and build the most beautiful personal wand... probably sans the gold and diamond hehe, or who knows  ... but nevertheless, it could be a beautiful one and all you do is imagine the light and the power. WOW! Love it already!

I am wondering if there are a lot of Aber's who have developed their ability to manifest regularly and do not discuss this with others for one reason or another. I can imagine several good reasons for not being overt. Several years ago a friend of mine was writing a book based on true accounts of a Rabbi in New York who could heal, turn water into wine and possessed several other gifts. I was told the the Jewish community near this man kept this secret and the proposed reason was that they did not want the world to see in him the second coming of Christ. I was also told that this man died young or perhaps was disappeared? My friends wife was Jewish and had heard first hand of this herself. I don't want to be negative but I think it is important to have an understanding as a group, has this been discussed? Any comments...

It would be better if you open a thread with your question on the "Abraham and You" subforum. There you would get a lot more readers and responses, as this one is mostly for introductions and it doesn't get the same traffic as the other one.
I'm also interested in reading the responses you will get for your question. 
You might also want to add your system again to your new thread because some of the forum members may have not read it yet.
