I appreciate Louis Armstrong singing great songs from Disney movies. Right now, I am listening to him sing "When You Wish upon a Star." Yeah, baby!
OK, I appreciate Louis Armstrong singing just about anything -- playing his horn, too!
Thank you, Universe, that there was Louis Armstrong among us -- AND, AND, AND that we still have the joy of listening to recordings of his music!! Yep!!
OK, I really just appreciate music -- like that Abba song "Thank You for the Music" "how did it all start... whoever it was; I'm a fan!"-- that's what I'm feeling this morning. "So, I say thank you for the music; for giving it to me!"
La di DAAAAAAAAAAAA!
"What a joy! What a life!"
Yes, indeed -- this is a great, perfect, zing-a-ding-y way to start the day!
Beautiful Vibrations ABOUND on this, the BEST DAY EVER!!!
P.S. I appreciate occassional splurges on breaksfasts like I had this morning: homemade ooey-gooey cinnamon rolls. That ooey-gooey topping is just like Food Magic. Yum!!
P.P.S. Thanks for the sweet words, KrisGoes
Excuse me while I go dance into my day!! "my, my how can I resist ya'!"

Ooo-wee! I had a great musical/dancing experience to start this day off, too. At my sound meditation class we each went off to a different part of a large garden and sang the song of our souls at that moment in time. I found my song to be incredibly joyful and celebratory -- specifically celebrating the joy of being in this body. In fact, I couldn't stand still. First, I started just swaying and swinging my arms around. Then, I went skipping and singing all around the lovely garden. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT.
And, what came a little later was interesting to me, too. For the final meditation of this particular class, my teacher plays a particular version of Om Nama Shivaya for us to participate in a call-and-repsonse kind of way. I usually find it very uplifting and delightful. Well, today, it seemed to be a lower vibe than my own "song," and it was bringing me down. So, I went in and looked for my own song to focus on that higher feeling which was challenging to think of one tune when another was playing loudly around us. But, I was able to do it enough to stop the downturn in my feelings, and when the teacher turned off the music, I buoyed right back up to the top because it was easier to hear my own joyful internal song. It was SOOO interesting to me and made me think of so many different things.
Also the other participants largely had songs related to feelings much lower on the EGS than joy; so, I had been tuning them out and focusing on my joy during their demonstrations of their songs, too. So even before the Om Nama Shivaya, I had a little practice tuning out, but I faced the Om Nama Shivaya with a different kind of openness due to previous experiences. It was so cool to be so aware of my feeling to realize that even the Om Nama Shivaya -- at leat that version of it at that particular moment -- could even be something that could be upstream if I dove in and gave it my full focus. It felt so good to notice what was going on so quickly and to shift gears as best as I could right then. (I think possibly part of what was going on was that the batteries were running down on the player, and it was playing just a bit too slow; so, the vibration was all off.)
Anyway, it was such a powerful way to start the day with music and dancing to the song of my soul and to keep primary my focus on feeling as great as possible in the face of other things and to find greater and greater heights of joy!!
Oh, and then the whole meditation after the chanting of the Om Nama Shivaya was about using the Om Nama Shivaya mantra as a portal to the divine; so, I just substituted my own soul song and flew and flew to such great heights. It was amazing.
Zing-a-Ding-Ding!

U.S. Open today! (LOVE that new emoticon!!) The Open is one of my favorite events. I get to see Blake play. I love that I can get on my computer and print out all the information I'll want to take with me -- maps and standings and charts and all. How fun!! I just love it ALL!
I appreciate going into NYC in small doses. I appreciate that I have now set up my life that way so that I can enjoy the ALL THAT IS of NYC and then come to my lovely town for smoother everyday life. PERFECT!!
I appreciate my new friends and my old ones.
I apprecate all the ways we can connect with likeminded folks through the internet.
I appreciate all the different points of view that people have and all the different points of focus people have and all the different ways of doing things and living and eating and talking. I love the diversity of this planet.
I love understanding my energetic role in ALL THAT HAPPENS in my life and understanding that when things that are not wanted enter the picture that I brought them here myself and that they are for my ultimate benefit.
YIPPEEEEEEEE!!!!

I'll post the lavendar cookies later. The ones I make are those flat, brown-edged cookies.

Lavender Cookies
2/3 c sugar
¾ c all-purpose flour
4 egg whites
½ c (1 stick) butter, melted
½ tsp lemon extract
3 TBsp finely chopped dried lavender flowers
Whisk the sugar and flour together. Add the egg whites, one at a time, mixing well after each. Whisk in the melted butter, lemon extract and chopped lavender flowers. Cover, and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Spoon cookie batter by the teaspoonful onto a well-greased cookie sheet, leaving lots of space between each cookie. They spread out flat.
Cook just until the edges begin to brown. Remove from oven and from cookie sheet immediately.
(The temp and cooking times vary a lot. I usually do one or two cookies first to test and adjust from there.)
Re-grease the cookie sheet before adding more cookie dough. (When I first started making these cookies, I lost an entire batch because it got stuck to the cookie sheet!!)
IF you are feeling adventuresome, you can also curl these cookies around the handle of a wooden spoon or even something of a larger diameter to make pretty shapes.
Have fun!

Woo-wee! Yesterday was a great day -- kayaking in the marsh mazes and the Shinnecock Pow Wow were highlights. Fun to remember such good times!
I just LOVE Abraham and this work.
Yesterday, as the day drew to a close, I started to feel myself slipping back into some blaming behavior toward my soon-to-be Ex. It felt like everywhere I turned my attention, I was "reminded" of this and that (negative) about him. I knew what was going on, but I was having a heck of a time getting out of it. Right then even my beloved pivot points seemed to point me toward "negative aspects" of him. It was confounding. So, I decided to go to bed early to break that cycle and prepaved and visualized a better interaction and reaction for today -- a fresh start.
So, I woke up and found it to be raining -- thus obliterating my usual outdoor Saturday morning classes -- which allowed me to SLEEP IN. And, when I woke up later, I meditated and then did more positive pre-paving and visualizing -- even before I got out of bed.
Then, out I came to realize that soon-to-be Ex and son had been watching TV for four hours. Usually, I would allow that to turn me upstream in a BIG way, but I didn't go upstream at all. Instead of getting angry about the TV watching, I thought about positive solutions that would be good for everyone. So, I made a list of rainy day activities -- while truly maintaining a postive attitude. I cheerfully greeted son and s-t-b Ex and handed s-t-b- Ex the list. He laughed. My son got intrigued. "What's funny, Daddy?" Dad read the list, and now they are figuring out which thing from the list they will do!
Then, I opened my daily e-mail from Abraham and saw the quote:
If you intend to be of assistance, your eye is not upon the trouble but upon the assistance, and that is quite different. When you are looking for a solution, you are feeling positive emotion— but when you are looking at a problem, you are feeling negative emotion.
It really DOES FEEL different. YIPPEE me, and YIPPEE the timely message from Abraham.
Another thing I realized is that I had let my regular daily meditation practice go by the wayside for this month -- and me, a meditation coach!!! Well, I can see and feel the negative difference in my life without the Meditation Effect.
So, today is definitely the BEST DAY EVER. I've learned so much in the last 12 hours, and I've gotten back to meditating!
