So, I'm not sure if this is the correct placement for this game that some of us started in the Crow's Nest nightly during the Alaska 2010 cruise.  It started as a lark, but now I notice that I really enjoy pondering the dictionary definition of a word that we use often, so I'll keep it up for a while, as long as it's fun, and we'll see what happens.  Today I read the last few posts of the Alaska thread and the word manifestation popped out.  I like the 2nd definition: A PUBLIC DEMONSTRATION OF POWER AND PURPOSE. In other words, it shows what you are powerfully focusing on. (ok richard, let's see your towel animal for this one)
Main Entry: man·i·fes·ta·tion Pronunciation: \ˌma-nə-fə-ˈstā-shən, -ˌfe-ˈstā-\Function: noun Date: 15th century 1 a : the act, process, or an instance of manifesting b (1) : something that manifests or is manifest (2) : a perceptible, outward, or visible expression c : one of the forms in which an individual is manifested d : an occult phenomenon; specifically : materialization
2 : a public demonstration of power and purpose

:beautiful:MOLLY IS AMAZING!!  I loved sitting in the Crow's Nest watching her with her cute red spackled reading glasses share with the kids her findings.  We would hear words during the Abe seminar or during the day from Abers and we would look up the meanings and all that!  JUICY!  It really helps to understand the meanings behind some of these words.

I am putting in a request for the meanings of some of the words that have been coming up in the Seattle Meetup!

CERTAINITY
DISCIPLINE - a word that Abe used a lot on the Alaska cruise

MOTIVATION VS. INSPIRATION

::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo

It is dictionary time with the magnificent Miss Molly!!!!  I will tell you that my favorite part is just watching her get into the Vortex and milk it while reading the dictionary!  LOVE IT!

I LOVE YOU MISS MOLLY!!  What am I going to do with myself while I am in Yellowstone for two weeks.  I will have to imagine you the whole time!  Hopefully you like tent camping.

I put ruckus on my word list for 2 reasons: 1.) I heard it at the marin Abe meetup I attended last night, and 2.) my cabinmates and I made a few in alaska!

So, today, class, we will get into some etymology as well...
ruckus = the act of making a noisy disturbance.
It comes from combining the words "ruction" and "rumpus"  FUN WORDS
ruction =
Main Entry: ruc·tion Pronunciation: \ˈrək-shən\Function: noun Etymology: perhaps by shortening & alteration from insurrectionDate: circa 1825 1 : a noisy fight
2 : disturbance, uproar
rumpus = a usually noisy commotion
So, what does all this have to do with Abraham?  Mostly it is fun, but also I'm thinking about Abraham telling us that as we stay in the vortex, things like government and laws will become lovable to us. And that is a form of insurrection, in my eyes, having boisterous noisy fun while not pushing against nor accepting the status quo.  Just being.

All true, I must admit.  Very few people can pull off bringing a dictionary to a bar...and then developing a following who actually request the dictionary.  But really, Raven, "tent camping"?  I believe you know me a little better than that by now!?!  But the part of me WILL be hovering over your tent, loving you and appreciating you and the beautiful nature you are experiencing.

Here's a word that I'm really lovin' right now, because I'm trying to remind myself that it is less about leveraging action, and more about...well...emanating!! (Also love the "wink" from the Universe with the word "source" being in this definition!)

em·a·nate  AC_FL_RunContent = 0;var interfaceflash = new LEXICOFlashObject ( "http://sp.dictionary.com/dictstatic/d/g/speaker.swf", "speaker", "17", "15", " /ˈɛməˌneɪt/ Show IPA verb, -nat·ed, -nat·ing. –verb (used without object) 1. to flow out, issue, or proceed, as from a source or origin; come forth; originate. –verb (used with object) 2. to send forth; emit.

Disciplining ourselves into the vortex.  Insisting on seeing what is coming rather than what is now manifest.
training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character
that definition is best, we train ourselves to focus.
i'm off to work, more later.
thanks for playing with me in dictionary land.

Okay here is an interesting word for you....jay said it to me... verisimilitude. I am moving away from my verisimilitude unless I really love it.

Also what about "safe" "stable" and "secure" I think Abe has talked about those and some of them are out of the vortex.

1. the appearance or semblance of truth; likelihood; probability: The play lacked verisimilitude. 2. something, as an assertion, having merely the appearance of truth.

Interesting in the Abe context.  What Abraham teaches could certainly seem to have simply the appearance of truth, so they tell us to look for evidence.  and sometimes I doubt, and think "am I just making all this up in my head?"  Duh, yes, I am just making this up in my head!

The opinions of others are the things that just have the appearance of truth.  Truth is discovered by tuning in to our feelings.

Nice word.  but Jay doesn't get to play, his vocabulary is just too awesome::hearts

So, would that place "verisimilitude" as a synonym for Stephen Colbert's "truthiness"?
