Also what about "safe" "stable" and "secure" I think Abe has talked about those and some of them are out of the vortex.
CERTAINTY

MOTIVATION VS. INSPIRATION

Darn that Raven, she's given me loads of words to consider and then run off to Jellystone Park to look for pic-i-nick baskets.

So, I'm going to go with my real friend Richard and use the word abandon for today.

Main Entry: 1aban·don
1 a : to give up to the control or influence of another person or agent b : to give up with the intent of never again claiming a right or interest in <abandon property>
2 : to withdraw from often in the face of danger or encroachment <abandon ship>
3 : to withdraw protection, support, or help from <he abandoned his family>
4 : to give (oneself) over unrestrainedly
5 a : to cease from maintaining, practicing, or using <abandoned their native language> b : to cease intending or attempting to perform <abandoned the escape>

yes, it is a good word.

yep, thx kris
I just now noticed #5 - to cease intending or attempting to perform.  AWESOME.  I will no longer perform, I will just be.  WOW.

Hi MissMolly and all.    I love this thread and this game!   I love words!    ...and OMG, Alaska must have been GREAT!!  I've been on 3 Abe cruises and am planning on Panama.... who's going to Panama?   I'd like a chance to to play this game in the Crow's nest on the ship; what a wonderful visual:))     But for now, if I can play now,  I'd like to suggest, after looking at a couple of my current desire statements, the oft used word,"vibrating/vibration".   What do you think?   I'm thinking MissMolly's dictionary, her interpretation and her delivery, has some kind of magic?   At any rate, I'm enjoying this thread :::wave  Thanks...Mary.:beautiful:

No, the magic is simply the love of words and the willingness to look like a dork to make yourself happy.  and I have that in abundance!  And yes, I'm going to Panama although I"m afraid when they see me they might lock up the dictionaries:(

I have to tell you, one of my favorite cruise memories was the second Crow's Nest night.  I brought my glasses because I had not been able to read the etymology the night before, but I was not going to get the dictionary right away because it just seemed too nerdy.  But Pauline said go get it, so I did.  About 3 seconds after I sat down, the group that had already been sitting there said - "Oh good, a dictionary. Does it say how many feet in a nautical mile?"  The Crow's nest is heaven on the high seas

OK, vibration.../  Well, 1st, the etymology of vibrate is cool:

Etymology: Latin vibratus, past participle of vibrare to brandish, wave, rock  :allgoodWE ROCK!

Main Entry: vi·bra·tion
1 a : a periodic motion of the particles of an elastic body or medium in alternately opposite directions from the position of equilibrium when that equilibrium has been disturbed (as when a stretched cord produces musical tones or molecules in the air transmit sounds to the ear)

4 a : a characteristic emanation, aura, or spirit that infuses or vitalizes someone or something and that can be instinctively sensed or experienced —often used in plural b : a distinctive usually emotional atmosphere capable of being sensed —usually used in plural
Well, it seems that the most interesting part to me is the fact that one vibrates from a position of equilibrium when that equilibrium has been disturbed.

"an aura or spirit that vitalizes" is one delicious contemplation!!!

Molly, you are amazing...Vibrate on::bowKris

Somebody at today's SF workshop said they like this thread, which got me going again.  You know how much I love recognition, almost as much as I love worship.  So back to Raven's words of INSPIRATION and MOTIVATION.  Let's see where this goes:
Main Entry: in·spi·ra·tion Pronunciation: ˌin(t)-spə-ˈrā-shən, -(ˌ)spi-Function: noun Date: 14th century 1 a : a divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify him or her to receive and communicate sacred revelation b : the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions c : the act of influencing or suggesting opinions
2 : the act of drawing in; specifically : the drawing of air into the lungs
wow, all good but what about "the drawing of air into the lungs".  amazing.

motivation - the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal; the reason for the action; that which gives purpose and direction to behavior; "we did not understand his motivation"; "he acted with the best of motives"

Well, inspiration is divine while motivation is psychological.  Another defintion for motivation said "providing incentive".  Inspiration does sound like a lot more fun!

OK, this has very little to do with Abraham teaching, except that I think it will make you laugh (remember, laughter is the new orgasm).  On the dictionary site I use, it has top ten lists (yes, my nerdiness knows no bounds)  anyway, here's a fun word:
#6: Tittle Definition:
tittle : the dot over i or j
Example Sentence:
In a handwritten business note, it's best to avoid smiley-face tittles.
Origin:
Tittle comes from the Latin titulus, which originally meant "title." Titulus came to refer to marks such as the abbreviated form of n written over a vowel (like the Spanish tilde, which indirectly got its name from titulus), and then to any mark above a letter.

Spiritual - cuz' "unspiritual" is not in the dictionary

1 : of, relating to, consisting of, or affecting the spirit

spirit-
1 : an animating or vital principle held to give life to physical organisms
2 : a supernatural being or essence: as a capitalized : holy spirit b : soul 2a c : an often malevolent being that is bodiless but can become visible; specifically : ghost 2 d : a malevolent being that enters and possesses a human being

we are more ghost than not ghost.  ooooohhhhhh

Hey, let's look up vortex:
vortex [ˈvɔːtɛks]n pl -texes, -tices [-tɪˌsiːz]1. (Physics / General Physics) a whirling mass or rotary motion in a liquid, gas, flame, etc., such as the spiralling movement of water around a whirlpool2. any activity, situation, or way of life regarded as irresistibly engulfing[from Latin: a whirlpool; variant of vertex]

can you believe it?  definition 2 is soooooo perfect.  irresistible engulfing.  I'd say so alright::cool

I was rereading "appreciating the crap out of your partner" thread by John (Appreciatenow) and wanted to look up the word appreciate.  Found some pretty good stuff in Merriam Webster:

1 a : to grasp the nature, worth, quality, or significance of
c : to judge with heightened perception or understanding : be fully aware of

It never ceases to amaze me that the wording of the definitions can be so perfect in an Abraham sense.  When I appreciate my friend, I "grasp their worthiness".  When I appreciate my job, I am fully aware.  Being fully aware of anything means that you see what source sees, which is only the good.  You might see "bad" too, but to be fully aware you will ALWAYS see good as well.

I am going to go appreciate the crap out of some coffee right now.
