Evey - 11:30 PM rambling about art ideas in the dark?  Sounds like that coffee sent you right into the Vortex! (BTW, thanks for the rose-colored glasses image - beautiful.)

::LOL

Pretty much! I dont know if it was the coffee! Maybe it was my belief inventory and the knowledge that i got some new awesome ones...!

::wow Are we having fun or what.  ::grapevine::grapevine::grapevine  I agree...this place has lit up the U.

Joseph:  Cowabunga & Yeeee-Haaaa, that was eggalicious::LOL   You certainly know how to live deliciously joy-filled in the V.

Evey:  I love your closet cleaning process ... especially 1 ... keep & practice, and 4 ... pull out from the back of the closet those beliefs that serve, but haven't been looked at for a while.  Interesting ... this is something I am doing as well...you just made a great game out it.   I am especially pulling out from the back of the closet, all the beliefs I KNEW were the truth as a kid ... those beliefs that I ALLOWED others to push to the back of the closet ... those beliefs that kept falling off the hangers trying to get my attention, and I'd pick them up, brush them off, put them on for a while, and suddenly find I was 'naked' again playing someone else's game because I DIDN'T IGNORE the others.  My closet cleaning has been off and on, hither and yon, throughout my entire physical life, but the past decade, the cleaning has taken priority ... and OMS I am, once again, MEer than me. ( & I, too, loved those Rose Colored Glasses you sent Susanna!!!)

Susanna: your beliefs/knowings about food are stellar.  And I so loved your IB email and how you invite the messages.  Very Peter Pan-ish.  (who just happens to be my IB's nickname). The next Abraham-Hicks book:  The Astonishing Power of Ignoring!  LOVE IT LOVE IT GONNA BUY IT

Nancy:  PNA ... love it love it love it.  Be aware, I'm a thief and am stealing it for my fav quotes/notes/thoughts/words collection.   It's very simple, isn't it .... out of the vortex, PNA what-is!

Vavi:  " (I knew it as a kid until I lost that knowledge)"  We were all such fricken smarty-pants' when we were kids, weren't we!!!!!  We KNEW IT ALL ... and now we are bringing it all out from the back of the closet ::devil  I picked out the same quote, on pg 165 .... I highlighted "practice your own thoughts" .. " opinions of others become irrelevant" .. "freedom...absence of resistance" .. "align chronic thoughts with the thoughts of your own INNER BEING" (aka Peter Pan).  We got it go'in on ::tramp

(Evey, this is right out of your closet processes #1 & 4::woohoo)

Leslie:  ::wow & ::woohoo & ::stardustdazzling::stardust!!!   Your thrill factor has us dancing in the streets ::grapevine ... or should I say air.  Chic-a-boom baby ... really really nice aligning.  I, too, loved the quote you selected, especially  when you are using the word OTHER, always use the word INSIGNIFICANT  ...  We are sure getting a lot of hints about the importance of ignoring ... I love it!!!::LOL!

Molly:  And the opinions of others have become so irrelevant to me that I have to keep my mouth shut and think before I speak.  Actually, think, feel, speak if necessary.  I am so with you on this.  I find that I really really have to put the brakes on sometimes, especially with family.  It's gotten so that no one, outside the vortex, has any idea who I am and what I feel anymore.  And I love it that way.  Aaahhhh sweet freedom.  I stumble now and then, but the game is getting fun-er and fun-er.

Ellenyo:  Thank you for that enticing yummy review about Julia.  I think I shall have to get the book AND the movie.  She was a genius at savoring.  Oh yes...to savor, to milk it, to luxuriate, to revel in, to bask, loll around in glory, to FEEL FEEL FEEL it. That's what we're talk'n about!!  More for my collection of fav words/expressions ::hugging Awesome stuff, Ellenyo.

Susanna: There's a scene where she's in a restaurant with her husband and sister - talking about the food - milking it - rhetorically asking, "Isn't this delicious?"  Then she answers her own question (even while still chewing) with a euphoric, "Yes.Yes.Yes."  Love it!   Perhaps orgasmic ::LOL (Meg Ryan )::LOL

Page 166:  (We are ignoring again ::devil)"We have never seen anyone achieve that alignment or the feeling of freedom when they are factoring the desires and beliefs of another into the equation.  There are too many moving parts, and it cannot be sorted out."

....."if some says to you, "I see something about you that I don't like," we would say, "Look someplace else."   IGNORE and then SAVOR.  Abe in a nutshell::woohoo::woohoo.

Off to board my vr net jet to Never Never Land and conjuring only feelings that thrill me.

::heartsSusan

This quote makes so much sense to me now..I remember using food as a way of soothing ,food as a way of punishing food as a way of hiding myself..sometimes eating a lot sometimes eating not at all..but as I practice the teachings of ABE I have started to treat myself gently and lovingly..2 days ago huge contrast happened...I could not eat..this time I asked myself am I punishing myself..the answer came  No I am not I can not use food to punish me..I have to FEEL the hunger and right now my emotions are telling me to stay away from food..i cud not eat anything for 2 days..other than some tea..as i came back in alignment i could FEEL my body asking for food..I really learnt a lot from this experience..I love being gentle and loving to myself..Thank you ABE:kiss:

I do not have the BOOK officially but all your contributions help us here a lot..Thank you all:kiss:

Oh Ha!  This is the thought that works for me today. I'm entering the actions of my day today with this positive perspective.

Oooh, something just clicked for me while reading another thread (unrelated to body isssues) quoting a long Abe paragraph. Two sentences thrilled me:

"They [Abraham] were saying that in the non-physical realm they have access to experience the physical realm through us here on the planet. And they were specifically talking about tasting food."

So the taste of food just may be one of the premium human experiences!

This boosts my good-feeling thoughts about good-tasting food right into the stratosphere. I may yet make food my friend. I won't lie and say I'm there yet, because I'm not quite. But our relationship is much cozier than it used to be.

Today I bought a gourmet brownie to celebrate my deceased mother's birthday. She is approving. She's waiting for me to eat it already. Okay, okay!

My mother was a hoot. Is.

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

I've been in my own Vortex of creation as I create my new biz.  Just popping by this bite-sized thread ;) to say hello!  I've been doing my reading in the book and just read through this thread.  Such fun!  Such love!  Such insights!  YAY!  I just love this place!

"Life itself is the proper binge."  ~Julia Child :)

I LOVE her autobio and the movie and her -- and, as it turns out, her husband, too!

Of the pages in this August thread, p.163 really stands out for me.  I realize now that I highlighted almost every single line on that page going through this time -- and I had highlighted that thread-favorite "Get Happy, then eat..." on another reading, too!  SO GOOD!

I also love:  "if you see yourself as healthy -- you will be.  If you see yourself as slender, or whatever it is you are wanting in terms of muscle or shape or weight -- that is what you will be."  Pretty much sums it up, n'est-ce pas?

And from p.166, this stood out:  "we would practice positive thought about our life until we render our feelings unhurtable."  I highlighted that when I read it last night.  Then, today I had an experience that kinda related to that.  A friend came over with her two lovely girls.  Only thing:  they whined, and yelled, and pushed, and shoved, and stood in between the two of us as we tried to talk... and I remember thinking, "I wish I had practiced thinking positive thoughts about them until my thoughts were rendered unshakable."  My thoughts were shaken.  I was happy to see them leave.  I sent up some major ::rocketand gave my son major extra ::wide::wideof appreciation.  And, my ::rocketwere not only for more peaceful interactions with that crew but also for more unshakable appreciation for those beautiful, lovely people.  ♥ ♥

Hmmm... not what I thought I would read or what I needed.  Yet - there must be something there to ponder today.

Meanwhile - I'm going with the visualization of self as I want to see myself.   Feeling. Feeling... "When you feel very negative about something, do not try to hammer it out and solve it immediately, because your negative attention to it just makes it worse. Distract yourself from the thought until you feel better; and then take another run at it from your positive, fresh perspective." (162)

HappyAOK, I so aggree with you. That quote really resonates with me because this is what I do, I try to make myself happy with food. Today, I am going to look for happy feeling thoughts before I eat and be aware  and focus on feeling good before I eat.

Cool beans!  Just in from a walk on the beach in my bikini.  :)  And, I was thinking lovely thoughts about my body as I went.  For me, personally, getting out in public in my bikini has helped me to think good thoughts about my body (which was a bit counter-intuitive at the beginning), and I'm seeing shifts.  For most of my life, I have had what would be considered by most an ideal body.  In the last few years, I've kinda let it go, and I want my "normal" body back -- and I'm getting it!!

Here's something else I've noticed: when I feel better about my body, I hold it differently, I stand differently and literally in that different stance the whole body looks better and the better it looks to me the better it looks to me...

So, it was very fun to come in from the beach still sticky from the salt water and still in my bikini to sit down and read the example of the "'New' Story about My Body" on p.167 and find it reflects EXACTLY the kinds of thoughts I'm thinking.  It was like the book was reading my mind!!  YAY, ME!!  YAY, My Body!  Such a great University of the Law of Attraction! ♥ ♥

And Happy birthday Elena! May your year be filled with joyful surprises!

Universe, surprise and delight us!!!

Well, friends, I am in Santa Fe New Mexico, hanging out with an Oscar winning Producer and his family. Wow. This is a surprise and delight. Life is so good.

Nicolette--yes! You found it! The Jet I flew on is the Citation 10, the fastest jet since they retired the Concorde!

Yeeeeha!

And this thread has SUCH magnificent stuff.
On the page of our old story, I decided to write my New Story--that felt good!

Also, I have been copying passages of just this section from MLOA to my journal--it makes it sink in more, I find.

Page 167
I feel good as I anticipate my improved size and shape--and I am confident that those changes are in progress. And in the meantime, I am generally feeling so good that I am not unhappy with where I am. It is fun to think on purpose, and even more fun to see the results of those deliberately chosen thoughts.

Sandra, I love your fun, vibrant, saucy southern gal energy and the reflections and loving posts you share with us!

Here's a little birthday gift from me, page 167 in full:

"An Example of My "New" Story about My Body

My body is a reflection mostly of the thoughts I think. I am happy to understand the power of directing my thoughts and I am looking forward to seeing physical changes in my body, which reflect my changes in my thinking. I feel good as I anticipate my improved size and shape--I am confident that those changes are in progress. And, in the meantime, I am generally feeling so good that I am not unhappy with where I currently am. It is fun to think on purpose, and even more fun to see the results of those deliberately chosen thoughts. My body is very responsive to my thoughts. I like knowing that.

There is no right or wrong way to tell your improved story. It can be about your past, present or future experiences. [my underline] The only criterion that is important is that you be concious of your intent to tell a better-feeling, improved version of your story. Telling many good-feeling short stories througout your day will change your point of attraction. Just remember that the story you tell is the basis of your life. So tell it the way you want it to be."

::stardust::hearts woohoo, that was fun! Happy Friday everyone!!!

The "old story" on p. 166 is almost word-for-word what I'm used to saying to myself in the background as I go about my life. This new story on p. 167 is what I want to start saying. At first it will take conscious focus to remember to say this, but after a while it will become my normal opinion.

To repeat because I want to read it again:

"My body is a reflection mostly of the thoughts I think. I like knowing that."

And to add: This process about shifting my body beliefs is very profound, and I  have moments of confusion and doubt, but I can feel the relief already, and I know that over time I will come to believe my new story in every part of my being, and changes will come. All I have to do is focus and relax.

August is such a Good Good Month::stardust::musicThanks for the wishes so far riding me on a carpet of caring (Sandra, Susanna, Vavi, Evey, Elena, Ellenyo,  Thanks for pointing out those Abe Leos Sandra -- Happy Belated to you -- You have a whole month anyway.

Today I put on a pair of short shorts an a low cut top -- feels a bit strange after 7 months in Aceh, Indonesia where women are mostly covered.  I was wondering about the shortness of the shorts but decided that I do have good legs.  So I go to wait for the bus and this man looks at me and he says nicely good shorts they show your legs. Then when he got off the bus he said good bye beautiful.  Beauty is one of my angels so I knew Beauty was just reminding me of who I am.

I just love when this kind of stuff happens. Yeah LOA::bow

Leslie ::rocketthanks for that expansion!!
Susan thanks so much for pulling the ideas together -- I know it is for you but it works for me and ME too:kiss:

Rather topically, LaughingHeart/Greg, has started a new thread as a follow up to his inspirational and popular thread on moving up the EGS to manifest abundance.

In this thread he talks of the success he has enjoyed as a result of telling new stories about everything in his life.

http://www.theabeforum.com/forum9/18708.html

A wonderful real life example of the efficacy of this simple yet powerful practice.
