Greetings Cosmic Arbiters of Good Taste and Joyful Living; Salutations Intergalactic Time Travelers of the Highest Order; Hail Denizens of the Milky Way and Beyond.  Are you enjoying the life you have chosen to create?  Are you finding that you are joyful more than fearful; happy more than angry; hopeful more than downtrodden?  If the answer is yes, well then, you’re firing on all cylinders, and if no - we have the tools to take you to Your Promised Land, yes indeed we do.  Read on....

My husband and I have just returned from a rendez-vous with old friends.  We all met up at one of our pal’s homes, situated on the Columbia River in Oregon - amazing spot!  We provisioned with ample amounts of food and drink, and hunkered down for four days of relaxation and frivolity. This co-mingling of 30 years on the high side, and 10 years on the low side, of memories, disappointments, death, divorce, marriage, and births could be considered a volatile mixture.  All of a sudden, you have the perfect ingredients for either a wonderful convergence of fun and merriment, or a Molotov cocktail - take your pick.

On the first night, there was a skeleton crew in place, the bulk of the players were arriving the next day.  Scott and I found ourselves firmly entrenched in reality; one of our pals smokes copious amounts of pot and becomes Helen Keller by 4:00 PM; one drinks more than recommended, and we wish she would become Helen Keller, get the picture?  Up in our room, after bidding the others adieu, we began talking about what wasn’t working, to the point where I wanted to get in the car and drive, drive, drive, far, far away.  And then, this idea came to me.

WHAT IF WE decided to use the brilliance of Abraham to get us through this experience? And, not only get us through, but use this occasion as an opportunity to thrive and enjoy the heck out of each other, Helen Keller, et al?  What if we focus on what’s working, what we like/love about a person or situation; thereby switching our attention from what’s not working, to what is?  What if we color the whole vacation in glorious shades of upliftment and optimism? Just thinking that way, made us feel better.  So, we made a pact that for the duration of our stay - 4 days/3 nights - we would not think or speak about anything/anyone in a negative way.  We would only focus on the positive.

Captain’s Log, Stardate: Day One of Living in AbeLand - What I first noticed was my mind’s (un)natural inclination to readily go to the dark side, judgement.  And, the predilection to do it a lot!  After the initial shock of my not-so-evolvedness wore off, I turned my attention to changing the thought and voila - I was on to a better feeling moment.

This good-feeling, turn-around experience, lead me to view this challenge with the same focus and intent that Margaret Mead might have employed when studying the proclivities of certain societies.  In other words, I would use this opportunity as a field study of the cultural anthropology of ME, cool right?

Day one progressed with ME viewing Me, or rather my mind, as I pivoted successfully from the negative to the positive.  And the result, feeling good; feeling really, really good!  And that’s what we’re all here for, is it not?  Quite the huge reward, for very little effort.

And with the morning dawn on Day Two, I found that it was a whole lot easier to pivot, as I wasn’t finding myself drawn to the negative nearly as much as ONLY the day before!  A whole lot of ground covered in very little time.  Our minds are creatures of alacrity; pliant and supple and easily adjustable, when we choose to focus, that is. When we take the reins and steer our minds toward the sunshine, and away from judgement.

And the super bonus, feeling good all day and drawn, yes drawn, like a magnet, to the things around me that were good feeling thoughts, scenes, moments.  It was as though I had re-calibrated my own heading of True North - and was attracting those moments that would most appeal to me.  My mind was doing the sifting for me, now that IT knew where I wanted to be heading.  It was literally pre-sifting.

So, Dear Friends, you can well imagine that day two floated into day three, which sailed into day four, and then, it was time to depart.  And, if I may be so bold, so un-humble for a moment, I am going to state that Scott’s and my attention to all that was good and positive, put a whole new spin on the experience, for everyone attending.  It was as though we were sprinkling fairy dust on each and every moment!  Is that crazy?  Perhaps, but it feels right when I say it to You - You Abe-liscious Family of the Ethers.  You know when Abraham says, “When one person is aligned, they have more power, than millions who are not?”  That’s what it felt like.

That weekend was our canvas, our blank page, our tabula rosa.  We could break out the colors, the polysyllabic prose, the musical notes, to fill those days and nights in any way we deemed specific to our amusement.  And, we chose to paint, sing, dance, write and speak with the tones of the Gods.  We chose to articulate our experience through rose colored glasses.  We erred on the side of yumminess, filtering our experiences with love and light.  And, my Dear, Dear Friends, our pals are still calling, texting, emailing about the fun we had together and wondering when we can all do it again?  Now, that’s a success story, if I ever heard one.

Captain's Log, Stardate: Home Base/Real Time - I want to report on what is happening now that we have returned home.  I find that my diligence with regard to my mindfullness of positive thinking/creating has waned, quite a bit, if I am to be perfectly honest.  It’s as though I am home and, “to hell with it,” seems to be the mantra.  Home equals lazy mind, short-term experiment equals focused mind.  So, what’s a gal to do?  Well focus, damnit that’s what.  So rather than give myself a long term goal of 4 days or some such thing, I revert to my early days in AA, when they spoke the words that gave so much comfort to a gal who thought that life equaled drinking - ONE DAY AT A TIME!  That’s right, one day, one moment, one blink of an eye, one swallow, one exhale, one inhale, one semi-precious instant, when we can change our minds, literally, again, and again, and again.  And, what I am so proud of, is that I am going easily on myself.  Because what can be construed as a slip, is actually a step-one. I am fine tuning folks, and fine tuners must give ourselves a break, the freedom to stub our collective toes and then move on to a smoother piece of pavement, calmer waters, better feeling thoughts.

So Dear Friends in this life of plenty, thank you for being on this Forum where I can share my empirical experiences with you, unfiltered, as we learn together by tripping the light fantastic, through the hallowed corridors of our minds.  Feeling totally sated, which I know will only last for a moment or two, I send out love from my heart and focus from my mind.  And, until we meet again, may you feel the sweet, sweet nectar that resides within each and every moment of this crazy thing called life.

Alchemist,   Super!!   How did you know I needed this inspirational advice today (and everyday).   I know this stuff and proved to myself that it absolutely works by implementing it!  But then I forget and go back to old patterns (frustrating).   I so much look forward to your posts.   Still waiting for you to put them all together into some type of book, because they are not only inspirational, but loads of fun to read!   I think I will print this one out.        Namaste,   yogini:kiss:

Alchemist, I have no clue why I did not say this before.  I was in a hurry to get out the door I think.  Your sense of humor snagged my heart. You are hysterical!  I shared this with both my sons and they loved it, too.  Thank you for this.   Gwen

Dearest Illustrious Readers and Commentators on this Forum - Are we the luckiest people on the planet or what?  Where else can you find such sincerity, such appreciation of the Mastery that we all bring to our collective table, of A Life Well-Lived?  I must admit, that reading all of your comments on my post, fills my heart with joy; what a jolly guilty-pleasure it gives me.  And, do you know why I am so soothed and uplifted by your expressions of kindness? Because, it is my fervent belief, that We, here on this Forum, are truly the denizens of the Leading Edge.  And, if what I am conveying hits home with the Best of the Best, the Arbiters of All Things Abe-liscious, well then, I must be on to something, right?

You do realize, Dear Friends, that WE have ALL known each other, in various and sundry forms, since the time before time? And that we will continue to Co-Mingle and Co-Create in the Temple of Our Familiar, long into the farthest expanses of our collective future?  Through the brilliance of technology, intertwined with the industriousness and loving effort of the talented (A)be-Team who monitor this Forum,  we have found each other again.  Tripping the light fantastic through our computers, across the country, continents and the world, we have discovered this place to perch, to rest our weary heads, to laugh, to cry, to commiserate (within reason), to share, to query, and to move forward together, collectively, in a communal push towards the outermost boundaries of The Leading Edge.

I couldn't think of anyone I would rather spend the rest of eternity with, than all of YOU!  Let's raise our glasses Dear Ones, filled with the effulgence of the stars, and salute each other and our willingness to step out on the Leading Edge and hold the beacon high - thereby, lighting the way for each other.

We are da Bomb, and then some!

And I say to you" Articulating Alchemist", I am new to this board and The Abe teachings. I must say the couple of posts I've had the pleasure of viewing have already helped me in getting through some situations that I know could have went a whole different way. Thank you soooooooooooo very much for your way with words and your assistance in helping me to continue "vibin" in the Vortex.
