Hi(gh) everyone!

I went on my first Hicks cruise in January 2010 and have been on all three this year! You can never have too much of a good thing, right?

I never put my hand up in the seminars as I didn't really have any urgent questions and I was confident I would hear what I needed to anyway. Although in retrospect, there was also a part of me who didn't want to be embarrassed by putting my hand up in vain!?!? You see how silly I can be sometimes?!:shock:

On the last day of my second cruise (Caribbean in March), I discovered how much fun it was to queue up an hour before the doors opened and running (though you're officially not meant to run) for the seats! ::runmickey We had Diana leading laughter yoga beforehand and once the doors opened, there were women screaming whilst we charged down the curved entrance hallway! I laughed and ran and laughed and ran the whole way with so much excitement that it reminded me of the run of the bulls in Spain or even more hilariously, the youtube clip I saw of "the run of the brid
es"!::LOL

A woman dropped her handbag just a few steps in and we all just jumped over it - an obstacle course, even better!
::tramp I heard later someone commenting "that is so unspiritual" about all this and it tickled me senseless. I made this phrase my mantra on the cruises whenever I witnessed or engaged in "improper" behaviour! I am sorry, but who cares about being "spiritual" when I can have so much fun!?!?! lol::LOL

On the night before the final seminar day on the Alaskan cruise, the thought popped into my head in the steamroom (where I often receive inspired thoughts) that it might be even more fun to get into the hot seat than running for the seats! I got seriously excited!

Gerard, a hot seat regular, told me at dinner that night how he has found it useful to discuss his questions with others to expand the energy, so we chatted about my potential question. I was first in line at the door for about 45 minutes before anyone else even showed up the next morning (a happy 'mistake' I made of the starting time & time zone change) and quietly wrote about what I might ask Esther as my questions poured forth. Just before the session, I ran into Marc, another hot seat regular who was also interested in my question about multiple orgasms for men. I took this as a great sign of course.

I was excited to put my hand up in the morning and did my "thing" to viscerally connect to Source. The first couple of times, I felt I was warming up for this new "sport" of hand-raising and on my third attempt, it just seemed totally natural when Esther pointed at me. I made an entrance without using the stairs by sitting my arse down on stage first and then uncrossing my legs whilst swinging around to stand up... it was all part of my plan for FUN!
::singer I felt so relaxed and present in the hot seat as if I was having a chat to a close friend.

In the afternoon session, I was again inspired to ask a question and followed my intuition to chat to two women whose laughs I absolutely love as my question was on humour & laughter! I knew by interacting with others who shared interest in my question, I could more easily allow myself to be the conduit of our collective asking. Once again, I was picked by Esther and hopped onto the stage in one step directly in front of her... I do have long legs! ::tramp

Fast forward to last Thursday, I had fun at the San Diego zoo with two Abers (currently staying with my partner in SD, away for Sydney's winter) and Andrea's story of having been in the hot seat 10 times added to my interest to play even more!
I just attended the San Francisco workshop on Saturday (24 July) and was again picked for the hot seat. Prior to the session, I ran into Steven who was also in the hot seat on the Alaskan cruise and of course I took it as a good omen, et voila!

I am highly competitive (as my partner & close friends often remind me) and I love numbers & stats... so I thought I might as well put them to good use... for FUN!
::downstream

So my record so far is 3 hot seat appearances out of 2 events in the same month when I put my hand up, what's yours? and more importantly, what would you like yours to be? ::grapevine

Gigglingly Joyous & Seriously Silly John

Impressive, and SO FUN.  You are so funny and ask brilliant questions, John.   Can't wait to be "unspritual" again in San Diego with you.

John! You are amazing! I love this post. I also love that you say you are competitive! Especially since I know the wonderfulness of you, this phrase is endearing. And inspiring--abe says competition can be useful if it inspires others. And I do feel inspired by what you have written!
I will try it for my next workshop!
With much love,

Hey Molly, I definitely see you as a kindred "unspiritual" buddy! Love it! ::hugging

Thanks Chelle

Leslie, I love your wonderful profile pic & the neon-rainbow! Yes, for years I tried to be "spiritual" and suppress or get rid of my competitiveness, but now I love embracing it for fun!
It's similar to how I used to stress over deadlines, whereas now I see them as my friend helping me to focus! It reminds me of how alive I feel when I focus with relaxed intensity, sprinting those final seconds at the end of a tough climb on my exercise bike. Totally in the zone.::runmickey

Hey John!!!

Ok - You got me over here from Facebook...lol ::grapevine

I have to tell you....I am sure that woman was my friend.....LOL.....I came in through another entrance with similar stampeding, so missed the magical moment you describe...Later in the break, she told me she had had a 'run with the wolves experience' getting into the seminar where she fell over and was left for dead underfoot or many feet....lol!! She had good humour about it although not everyone she told did exactly.  But as we know, how you perceive a situation is all about where you are standing. She has a great sense of humour!!

On the rest of it.....I love your stories of lining up with the hot seat....good for you!! It is just so wonderful how Abe always picks people that they can have a great conversation with and on that cruise, I listen to the CDs and even now hear more and more that I didnt while actually submersed in the magic of being there!! I marvel at the many layers in every single one of their interactions with us. They reach out to so many different places in all that they say, so many chances for us to be hooked into the Vortexy wonders.

Ok - so here....some flowers for you, kind sir

John, you are a barrel of fun! And what great advice! I didn't raise my hand on the Caribbean cruise, but I did on the Alaska cruise, and one time Abraham pointed right at me and I stood up and started walking up, but she meant someone behind me. Well, driftwood!

What a good idea, to discuss the question beforehand to expand the energy. I hung out with another multi-hot-seater (Ora) a lot on the cruise, and also sat next to Gerard in a session, so I expect all this exposure to hot-seaters to raise my vibe!

Are you getting on the hot seat in San Diego? LA? Why am I even asking? :)

Fireball Lisa, great to hear from you here. I was reading over my other threads yesterday and really appreciated your great words of appreciation and sharing.::TU

Stacey, so happy for your current shift & opening. Somatic awareness (visceral knowing) rocks!::bow

Evey, I can just imagine you hopping by my side, maybe even trying to bump me out of your way? Just remember: I'm competitive with long legs.
::LOL

Molly, I like your dictionary thread and drawing from your definition, I would see being "unspiritual" as being "un-ghostly": being fully in my body, blood-pumpingly present, physical for more and more fun!::tramp

Hey Synchronicity Sunbeam Jill, Congrats on crossing over (from fb) and I'm most honoured by your name change. What a shame I didn't see your friend "left for dead" on my run... it would've been even more fun to jump over her than a mere handbag! (I am bad.) ::LOL

Ellen, I love your hot-seating through peer immersion approach. I bet you also remember how you felt in those precious few seconds before you realised Esther was pointing at someone behind you? How clever & playful of you to have allowed yourself a visceral experience of being picked as rehearsal?! ::bow

Evey, he may be fast with long legs, but I know his Achilles heel.  Just make him laugh really really hard, it will slow him down a bit.

Loved the post, John, and I loved running in the AM's on the March cruise as well. I really enjoyed your post and your thoughts on getting in the hot seat.

I guess there are many ways to get there and expanding the idea certainly sounds right. I wanted to share, too, that the first time I was ever called to the hot seat, I had not told anyone about what I wanted to share. But my heart and soul were longing so for the answer. I was looking for relief on a certain issue and ready to receive it.

Being lined up with your question and ready for the answer I think is important too. I have been called into the hot seat once at each seminar I attended and once on our March cruise. I consider it 3 for 3.

This last time, I had some questions, but wasn't sure which to ask or not ask (and Jerry likes to say we should only ask one) so as I raised my hand to be called upon, it was not pure energy with a clearly defined question ready for the answer. Once I cleaned up my question (decided that the two were related and asked them both) I immediately got chosen.

I remember that Abraham only sees our light, not our physical selves.

I enjoyed your post (and others) so much - Thanks - :kiss: Susan
