Hey guys! For all you students out there, I thought I would post up the conversation I had with Abraham in the hot seat on October 25, 2008 in Atlanta about School and Grades. I hope this will help a lot of you as school starts back up!! It's a good way to get school off to a great start in 2010!! Enjoy!

______________________________________

Me: Hi! (I was laughing)

Abraham: We are (i kept laughing :D )

Me: So I'm 15 and in high school and -- last year it was like, really cool. And I understood everything and I was having a lot of fun. And then over the summer I got to know you and it was really cool. And I was really looking forward to this year in high school because I learned so much. And then this year started and it was a lot different. I wasn't as good in school as last year, and It kind of got me down...and --

Abraham: What do you mean, 'you weren't as good in school?'

Me: I didn't make the same grades

Abe: Which really means...?

Me: My...vibration changed?

Abe: Well, we're looking for something more literal. In other words, the things you are learning in school...are they calling you because you have a personal, sincere interest in learning them? or a personal sincere interest in pleasing someone who wants you to learn them?

Me: Um, well I want to be an intellectual, i think that's a really cool thing (laughter), but I've --

Abe: Do you know what a genius is? All genius is, not a genius, but genius, all it is is just attention to a subject. Law of attraction takes care of the rest. In other words, you just can't focus on something without more information around it gathering around it. So the reason we are playing with you (I giggled) a little bit is because we really want you to contemplate. What do you think is different last year to this year relative to the subjects and the grades you are receiving?

Me: They became more important. They seem like they matter more when you get older because colleges start looking at them. And then there's pressure from your parents

Abe: So, what are you saying? Are you saying that somehow, without paying attention or really knowing how you're going about it, you've introduced more resistance to the equation of learning?

Me: Yes, definitely

Abe: So, because it became more important you are taking more close score of where you are. Which is sort of the same as shooting yourself in the foot, yes?

Me: (giggling) I guess

Abe: So, the reason we played with you in the way that we did is because we know that when you want to know something, when a subject is interesting to you, you turn your attention to it and you go far beyond the requirements. Is there anything that you think that you know about anything that surpasses what any of the instructors in your class know?

Me: I can definitely see different perspectives of a bunch of things that no one has thought about before

Abe: So if we're grading you all on a curve, you get an A and your teacher gets a D?

Me: YES. (laughter)

Abe: On quite a few subjects really, when you think about it. Subjects that matter in this modern day and age certainly. In other words, do you download to an iPod?

Me: Yes...well...it broke but, i mean (laughter)

Abe: But you know how, dont you? (reply: yes) In other words, there are SO many things that you are SO advanced on that the system that chooses the give you the grades can't even BEGIN to understand. In other words, you hit the ground running. You knew more than they know now when you were born! (I'm laughing and giggling) We're not kidding! Because you had the benefit of coming from this vibration of all knowing into this time-space reality. They came from an entire different point of knowing and have been banging around in the physical ever since. You came here fresh, up to speed, and knowing you see! Now, we're not giving this to you because we want to put them down in any way or because we want you to. We're just wanting to sure up your understanding of who-you-are.We want to call your attention to what life has caused you to ask for and your relationship with it, and we are not nearly as interested in talking about the relationship between where you are on a subject and where your teacher thinks you should be. And the subject of where you are who you have already become. So, when you know that there isn't anything that you turn your attention to that you can't excel in, then you let go of that resistance that says, "oh this is harder than before and therefore I should have more trouble with it." It's not a matter of anything being difficult because the Source within you will guide you to the answer or the solution of any problem effortlessly, and when you know that then it just unfolds before you!

Me: Last week, actually, um I was doing chemistry homework and it was really cool because all of a sudden, I was just--I wasn't even thinking but my hand was writing the answers. And I wasn't thinking about chemistry I dont think? I was just (pause) I try not to, but...(lots of laughter) it was just really cool because I didn't understand what I was doing in that moment that was different than in class that day because in class I didn't understand a word the teacher was saying. And then I get my homework...

Abe: Well let us tell you why, let us tell you why. Let us tell you the two differences between being in the classroom and the experience that you had. When your teacher is your tutor, your teacher is standing there in that grounded-earthly place, seeing you as unknowing and trying to call you into knowing. Your inner being is standing over here where every answer to every question has already been formulated for you, your Inner Being sees you as knowing and calls you to knowing. And when you feel like you know, even before the details of it have been revealed, you go easily to the solution. When you feel like you don't know, it's a long hard road. And that's the thing thats hard for teachers. So many teachers have focused upon so many students who have been forced to focus upon so many things that they didn't want to focus upon, that teachers now have a basic vibration that goes something like "learning is going to be hard for you because learning is just hard." And when you buy into that then learning is hard! But we want to say to you that anything you want to know will come easily to you. Which, what we hear and feel from you is everything - you want to know about everything! (I giggle) So the question that we want to put to you, and it would be good for you to put to yourself...depending on how you are feeling. When you are feeling joyous, you don't need the question because you've got the answer. When you feel joyous the answer is : "Source is calling me towards this!" When you feel uncomfortable or lethargic, or disinterested, or bored, or confused, stop and just say: "I'm being prodded to the solution rather than called to it." And that's what a lot of teachers do, they're trying to prod you. They're trying to prod you to the answer. "You gotta study and you gotta try hard and you gotta pay attention!" And we say, some of the best answers come, as you said, when you're not paying attention! Because often what you're paying attention to is where you are. And if you are paying so much attention to where you are, in other words, step 1 is step 1. Step 3 is Step 3! And if you're beating the drum of Step 1 you're in the vibration of the problem or the question, and you can't get to the solution that way.

Me: So if I was in class and what we were doing I was on a different vibrational frequency because I just felt like I was being prodded...would it be accurate to just think about...The mall? During Class? (Lots of amazing laughter!!) And would I be able to do my homework?

Abe: chemistry...the mall! chemistry...the mall! (hand gestures showing which is higher up on the emotion scale / more important to focus on. This was from a previous hot seat question)

LOTS OF LAUGHTER AND CLAPPING!!!!!!!! It was amazing!

Abe: Use anything, all day every day, as your excuse to tune into who you are. And when you tune into who you are, all that you know is yours in the moment!!

Me: Sounds good!

Abe: IT is good!

This is what I need! Especially with my winter break ending, I love this view of school as opposed to the traditional "memorize this, do that, ten pages of homework, etc".

P.S. I'm putting a long conversation with Abe in my vortex, it seems to be pretty fun.

I love this interaction so much, thanks for posting it. I've read it before and it's so good to be reminded of it. I'm in college and we actually don't get grades at my school but just evaluations. I got an evaluation from an art teacher that I wasn't extremely proud of so it was really nice to read the part about the relationship between you and the teacher not mattering as much as the relationship between you and You. And this line is probably just the most phenomenal thing ever.

"Use anything, all day every day, as your excuse to tune into who you are. And when you tune into who you are, all that you know is yours in the moment!!"

I was looking for something uplifting on the forum and something that relates to the thoughts going on in my head.

Your post is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you!

I have experienced getting the perfect answers and perfect grades directly from Source and I want to do this again this year and was looking for something to sort out any creeping uncertainty/doubt.

Thanks so much for this!

FaFaRoar! Thank you so much for this transcribe and asking the question!

It has helped me immensely!

I grew up with what was termed learning disabilities and not being able to get past grade 10.  But I knew I was real smart/intelligent but could not make the connection between the two.  The term learning disabled confused me because I was such genius at many things.

Learning in some areas continued to be a source of pain for me.  My own business is computer/internet based and because its such a constant changing techno area I have to be constantly learning and keeping updated.  I find this aspect has been difficult.  Other areas of the business I thrive in.  I have great passion for my work.

When I found Abe I came to realize that what I thought was a learn problem was just a collection of resistance vibrations that made up the "learning disability", IOW, these vibrations were resistances that manifested in a condition.  A false story I have been telling myself all my life.

Since Abe I have been seeing it from this point of view, and hold the belief and knowing that this is in no way a  permanent condition, just one that somewhere along the way I took on to believe was true.  And thus have been able to release a lot of resistance and feel more at ease and knowing when I need to studying/learn something.  And I hold the knowing that I will continue to expand with this and allow it its true Sourced potential.

I printed out your quote and read it last night.  I cried because it brought me to a much deeper knowing than I've ever had before that I can accomplish brilliantly in this area of learning and study.  Thank you for helping me make an even deeper connection and expand.

I'm so glad you are here!

So funny, I had been thinking all day about posting a ? about school, and you just answered it.loa!!!!I just went back to school after ten years and was feeling very frusterated. I at first went back for a better job and money, and had a feeling I had to do very well and put way to much pressure on myself. Now I know what I am learning I truly want to learn and need to focuse on the joy of it . Its all vibrational!!!!!::downstream

Thank you so much Amy

Hello, fafaroar,

Such fun to see your posting here!  I was right up in the front row when you had this very interesting interaction with Abraham.  Loved it! ::hearts

My hubby was the one who asked the question about going to his high school reunion, and Abe told him to approach him as if it were the first day of kindergarten and feel who he felt attracted to.

Guess it was a school-related workshop...

These replies keep making my day! I am so happy this converstion meant so much to you guys! I guess there was a lot of asking for it because I had the sudden urge to do this. When I was typing it I heard a lot of stuff I had not even heard yet! So i definitely benefited greatly from this as well.

I just love knowing that school doesnt have to be hard or miserable at all! Nothing does! It's so nice to know that getting into the Vortex is a gazillion times more important than frustratingly studying for a test. And just for the record, dont tell my parents ;) , but my latest round of exams, I barely cracked a book for any of them! And I got a 99 on my biology exam and almost every single one of my course averages went up hahaha. :beautiful:

Patricia! I've listened to your husbands conversation so many times! The conversation was so funny and I hope he had an amazing experience going to his reunion. 2008 ATLANTA SEMINAR BABY!!!

Hey, ladies. I'm really enjoying this thread. Keep it going! I'm trying to find and use all the Abe suggestions I can in my classroom this semester to help my high school students be more successful. How could I reverse this and use it as a teacher? I always try to make things relevant by bringing in current music, by relating things to the students' lives, etc. And this semester, the first thing I'm going to do is have students write their own, new story about how the semester will end and how they see themselves doing, what grade they'll end up with, rather than any old story they may have ended up with before. You who are students, talk to me!

By the way, still being a college student myself--when I took my comps two years ago, I studied and played solitaire on the computer while I studied, switching back and forth. I just thought of it as a stress-buster at the time, but I see now it was more a resistance-releaser. Guess what? I passed comps!

The teachers are the ones who are dumb! xD
