Mrs. Jam and I have had a life-transforming 10-day experience here on Maui.  We have fallen into a deep appreciation of ourselves, each other and our world.

Our plane was supposed to take off last night, Friday, 9 PM.  Meaning we would have to wrap up our ocean experience at 4:30, pack until 6 and head off to the airport to get there by 7. Bye, bye, Maui.

I had been working Thursday and most of Friday finalizing my 2000-word travel article in the hotel room, the blue sky and ocean right outside my sliding glass door, longing to go out and play, but work called and I worked and it was fine...more or less! ;) Ok, I did some aligning here and there.   Mrs. Jam hung out by herself, and missed me. We missed each other.

Finally, at 11 AM Friday, I filed my article and the work part of the trip was officially over. Mrs. Jam decided she wanted to stay another night, just one more night. Our hotel room was free Friday night---all taken care of.  Seemed a shame to fly back, since we are staying in one of the top rooms of this hotel---large, luxurious 1-bedroom with double king bed, two enormous baths with his-and-her sinks, long hallway, floor-to-ceiling views on all sides, Jacuzzi bathtub and steps from the Pacific.

I got on the phone to the corporate office of (this airline) and made my plea---we need to bump our ticket 24 hours, please, thank you, if you can, and for cheap.

Mrs. Jam and I had no doubt it would happen, and we were pretty excited to stay another day.

After about 20 minutes, they wanted something like $600 to change one ticket, with a 6-hour layover in Los Angeles.  There was no way we were going to do that. It wasn’t worth it.  Los Angeles we considered, but the $600 was out of our current reality for another 24 hours here.

I was “ok” with it, but Mrs. Jam burst into tears and left the room, down to the beach.  I let her go---there was nothing to say, and I knew it. I also knew she would align, and straighten herself out soon.  In about 20 minutes I went down there and she was still devastated.  One big difference between us is I am very good at goodbyes---get it over with and get on to the next thing, far out.  She doesn’t like goodbyes.  Her dad died suddenly when she was 15---went to work one day and died---and goodbyes frequently stir up that life-changing event.

Part of the upset, too, for her, was dreading going back to work Monday—what she would find there, mess-wise in her absence. It was the same upset I'd written about on the Abe forum last week, about going back to my apartment---an upset I'd turned around, with your help.

I couldn’t talk Mrs. Jam into a better feeling about leaving the island as originally planned.  So I decided to create create create.

Told her things at work would be different for her now because we were different now. That she and I would completely start anew in our relationship---never bringing up the past because the past is gone, and it’s a moment-to-moment life now.  I asked her what she would do if money were no object, and listened to her launch creations.

I told her I appreciated her with all my heart and soul, that I had fallen deeply, helplessly in love with her this trip, and that nobody could take these 10 days away from us.

“Now how do you feel?” I asked. “Amazing,” she said.  "Good! Let's not waste any more time on this."

We frolicked in the water, enjoying our last few hours of paradise.

At about 4:30, I said, “You know what, I’m going to try again with this airplane thing.”  Off I went.  I walked into our hotel room and addressed my Inner Being.

“Hey, there. Would you mind setting up an easy transaction for me---would you let us extend our plane 24 hours for very little money? If it’s appropriate. Thanks, man.”  I don’t know why, but I didn’t feel I needed to pack.  I knew, somehow, I wasn’t going anywhere today.

I got on the phone, this time to a regular ticket agent, and made my plea.  Together, we plotted and schemed and finagled.  Mrs. Jam came in the room and looked at me. I held up a finger. Wait.

Ten minutes later, I made it happen---for $50.  Not each. That was for one ticket. The other ticket change was free.

Only thing was these flights left Sunday night, not Saturday.  Two extra days on the island.

I called the person in charge of our room and told her the story---need an extra night, and that Sunday was Mrs. Jam’s birthday, which was true.

“Sure, no problem,” she said.

Mrs. Jam and I were in shock for about 90 minutes. We went down to the pool and hung out in a couple of chairs, just stunned. Deeply, deeply appreciative.

Finally I smiled at her and said, “Well, happy birthday, kid.”  She burst into tears again---tears of joy.

We came back up to the room to watch the sunset before dinner---dinner that would be in town, rather than on a plane---and I caught myself in the mirror, a tanned, newly bearded, powerful creator, and smiled.

Ask and it is given---and sometimes even more than what you asked for!

Hey SlowJam, for some reason you popped into my head a couple of days ago. I had spotty internet access for a bit (which has been resolved!) and couldn't login to the forum.

That is a wonderful story, a powerful one. There is wanting something....and then there is wanting something and lining up with it! You both went with the flow and made peace with where you were, and you released a lot of resistance...and then manifestation happened!

Powerful creators you both are:)

Thanks for making my morning even better!

Wow!  You are becoming that person that Abraham talks about.  You are getting so good at this that literally all you have to do is ask and it is given.  Hot Damn!!!!!!!!::woohoo::woohoo::bow::bow::bow

I love stories of people getting what they want. I enjoyed reading this first thing this morning. Good on you Slow Jam! :) Wonderful example of deliberately conjuring your own vibration and getting a different indicator. ::downstream

Holy hell that's fantastic! See, I knew something was up when I considered sending you a "Welcome Home to NY" message a few times and my IB kept me procrastinating!
